Recently I needed resumes of M.Tech Structural Engineering candidates for a position in ATKINS. Therefore, I asked few of the people in my connections to send their resumes If they were interested.

As Expected, I received lots of applications (much more than what I needed).

To All the Applications I received, I sent them Personal Acknowledgments of receiving their Applications.

The Very Reason why I sent those Acknowledgments was I know for the fact that HR’s or Recruiting people Most Often Do not reply to Jobseekers Applications. I wanted to give jobseekers the hope that this '????????????' recruiting Process can come to a Normalcy only if the People looking over it (HR’s/ Recruiters/Company) Want. At least I can be their hope. If Not Everyone.

 Also I noticed few of the important points while I received those Applications. And hence thought of sharing those with everyone.

1. The resumes receive had weird file names like '??????????_????????????', '???????????? (1)', '????s??????-??????????????????', '2-??????????-10-????????????' etc. Now it’s very important that whenever a jobseeker sends Resume via mail, it should have a proper file name. Ideally Your name-Resume. This will greatly help recruiters find and organize your resume from the received set of resumes.

2. Few of the resumes didn’t have vital Information in them. Like their aggregate percentage, Study years etc

3. Few of the emails I received were forwarded applications. Jobseekers just forwarded the same mail which they sent to some other Company. Never do this. To each company you apply, you should customize your application suiting to the post.

4. Emails didn’t have a proper subject line and body. Whenever you send your application to any job via email, have a proper subject line and body of the mail composed. Also important is to mention from where you got to knew about this recruitment.

5. Resumes were also received after the deadline mentioned. Jobseekers must be very active to receive such information’s about jobs and apply within the prescribed time.
