MODI 3.0 Govt Draws 100-Day Action Plan, My Thoughts on Agriculture

Leveraging my decades of experience in the agriculture sector, I propose five priority areas for the first 100 days that could deliver substantial rewards. Additionally, it is important to consider the following strategy papers that have been published periodically.

8 个月Very insightful and inspiring. But I did not like the first two words ...Let's not make Kings & Queens of Elected Democratic Representative. Government is like a Service Provider , if not performing , let's boot them out . A new Government is there but he is not the President or King according to our #Constitution. Secondly , jumlas ( false promises ) should not be encouraged. I humbly request all here to not use words like " rule " " reign " etc.

8 个月Congratulations to you and Team Modi 3.0 But execution and implementation of MSP is less than 10% in India. Most of FOOD WASTE Due to Lower Price at Source - farm. GST in AGRI INPUT is TOO HIGH, So you are making AGRICULTURE NEGATIVE GROWTH CATAGORY in India. As a RESULT millions of farmland are NOT CULTIVATED, those Cultivated are by force or at last resource to earn Bread. Please IMPROVE implementation of MSP and Procurement Direct From Farmer to make India Healthy Economy or Import substitude of OIL, PULSE, DAAL and in NEAR Future RICE AND GRAINS too.

8 个月The agriculture issue is probably a case of not addressing the root cause. Or not looking at the end to end process comprehensively. Farming is about SOIL on one end with CONSUMER at the other end. Like Allopathy (which treats symptoms) versus Ayurveda which treats the root cause of the disease based on individual unique constitution holistically. When soil health and consumer health becomes the primary goal of agriculture than Farmer will be richer and healthier! How? 1. Respect mother earth and the millions of microorganisms in soil by avoiding chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, weedicides etc.) - we are what our food ate! - soil microorganisms are the real farm labor which bring food in plant available form increasing nutritional value and density in the produce 2. Respect nature and nature's processes by using heirloom seeds and reusing seeds from your own farm - heirloom varieties are natural evolution with right mix of nano, micro and macro nutrients and taste! - shelf life is higher which allows farmer to sell for a longer period than hybrids - generating seeds decreases input costs for a farmer 3. Respect biodiversity by watching a forest- plan multicroping and multilayer plants and trees

8 个月Sir, very insightful and deep ask from the government and policy makers ?? Regarding doubling farmer income project (which has failed considerably), what’s your understanding and take on “household budget per month†on food & associated spending across different income groups in India and around the world? How does the budget/spending going up by a small margin impact in a capitalistic demand-supply economy?
