Couturiers wield tremendous creative freedom, allowing them to get away with all sorts of wacky provocations, but theirs is a business like any other.

Modesty appears to be selling especially to high-net worth women — and a now sizable group of men — from East Asia and the United Arab Emirates, where abstaining from revealing too much is deeply rooted in the culture.

Karl Lagerfeld?and The Walt?Disney?Company, marking its centenary this year, have teamed on a capsule collection launching Feb. 23 on Karl.com and at select retailers globally.

It riffs on a hand-colored illustration of Donald Duck that the late designer created in 2004 to honor that beloved character’s 70th anniversary. Lagerfeld dressed Donald just like him: in jeans, a black blazer, high-collared shirt and dark sunglasses.

Amid fashion’s ongoing fascination with all things 1990s, Martine Sitbon is coming back with a new fashion project — and one based on adaptations and reeditions of her archives, WWD has learned.

A stalwart of the French fashion scene with a cult following for her arty design, Sitbon has teamed up with French fashion entrepreneurs Arik and Laurent Bitton for the new project, dubbed Rev.

Blk Dnm is entering a new stage of its business with a rebrand that repositions the?denim?and sportswear label as an “entry-luxury” brand.?

The Swedish-American brand, which is pronounced “Black?Denim,” said Thursday it is rebranding to bring the previously midmarket label into the entry-luxury category with a new logo, elevated aesthetic and retail strategy. The rebrand is being helmed by creative director Jessy Heuvelink, who joined the label last March.?
