Does the society celebrate style or do they create it?

?I’ve always wondered; do people create style or is style created by creative people, and it becomes a hit when people celebrate it?

At first glance it is easy to say that pop-culture is defined by various industries, through constant endorsements done by celebrities, brand ambassadors and consumption by the people as well. However, when we ask the experts, they look at history, hereditary along with study of taste and preferences of human mind at different times.

Eventually, the pattern ensures to look deep inside the people and create a style where anyone can reflect within themselves.

To answer the question, the contemporariness of style keeps shifting according to cultural tapestry shaped up by society, and that’s because we as humans are inherently diverse, which ensures our style and senses are also plural and fluid than we perceive.

What is style?

Style reflects human qualities such as, courage, distinctiveness, catharsis, malevolence, arbitrariness and what not! The shades of good bad and grey are definitely out to debate however, they’re all fundamental elements of style. Because these are some traits that defines human experience, eventually turning out to be a memory.

To rephrase it I’d say, style is art of expressing one’s characteristic signature that distinctively changes according to times.

Where can style be found?

It could be found in fashion industry, music, art, sports, products, anything, but style pushes beyond its origins. It actually provides a space to explore individuality, fluidity, modernity, and most importantly emotions embodied in physical forms.

It is also arguably fair to say that style cannot be boxed into a materialistic realm but can also be in performance, attitude, or in experience, something predominantly intangible.

Performance oriented style carries confidence and charisma to explore internal emotions and feelings, mostly endorsed by theaters and cinema.

?Style is indeed unique, isn’t it?

?Yes, style being an element of internal reflection or an instillation of experience through various means define our individuality in multitude of aspects. Hence it is indeed unique.

Sometimes it can be devoid of meaning, devoid of conviction, and at times absurd too! therefore being the ironic beauty of it. All kinds of style carry the spirit of humanity in it, that keeps pushing its borders beyond norms and convictions, they’re truly forerunners of our collective selves.
