The Modernist style surprised everyone by rejecting ornamentation, bringing modern materials, and embracing minimalism.
But, the movement that’s inspiring us till today was inspired by whom?
Arts and Crafts;?

Deutscher Werkbund(1903, Vienna); and?
Wiener Werkstatte(1907, Munich).
Initially, modernism developed in European countries presented one of the earliest buildings highly influenced by this style was: AEG Turbine Hall, Berlin. The design by Peter Behrens in 1909 used only three materials: Steel, stone, and glass. After a year, Czech architect and theorist Adolf Loos took one step forward by writing the article:?Ornament and Crime,?and constructing the Steiner House(Vienna), which vanished the decorative techniques. Although, the highest peak hit for Modernist architecture during the 1920s and 1930 with the Bauhaus and International styles, characterizing asymmetricity, large windows, white renderings, open-plan interiors, and distinct materials(metal and glass).
Note: Modernist, till present, is continued as one of the most influential styles.

Secondly came Villa Savoye(1929-1930), Paris.
Le-Corbusier?and his cousin?Pierre Jeanneret?designed one of the most influential works of architecture, named ‘Villa Savoye’.
