Modern Woodmen Fraternal to sponsor HBU Business Career Fairs...
The Office of Career and Calling is pleased to announce Modern Woodmen Fraternal as the 2017-2018 sponsor of the Business, Accounting & Marketing Career Fairs happening in the fall and spring semesters. Houston Baptist University has expressed interest in taking its students into the competitive waters of the World of Business in the Houston region and beyond. The Office of Career and Calling is fulfilling the university's mission to ensure Huskies have ample opportunities in growing industries such as marketing, business development, accounting, finance, management, human resources, project management, media, graphic & web design, and a host of other business sectors.
The first step to acclimating Huskies to the Houston business community is to host a Business Career Fair each semester and provide companies an opportunity to sponsor recruiting events on campus as to firmly cement their brand in the campus culture at HBU.
James Mable, Director of Career and Calling, is excited to see the variety of organizations registering for the Business Career Fairs. "HBU students are the epitome of the future of this nation in every definition of diversity, culture, and faith. If you are looking for a university that is a snap shot of the demographic trends happening in Houston and beyond then look no further as HBU is one of the most diverse christian liberal arts universities in the United States. When you come on campus you might envision a more homogenized environment, but to employers' pleasant surprise most of the students attending Career Fairs here at HBU are women and they represent a variety of ethnic backgrounds and cultures from around the world. These students are ambitious and come to HBU for the quiet and christ-filled ambiance as well as HBU's insistence that students develop the skills to pursue their vocational calling early on in their college years. This is why companies getting involved on campus like Modern Woodmen are going to find a safe-haven for quality recruiting as my team and I are always assessing our operation and finding additional ways to provide employers opportunities to brand themselves on campus and recruit Huskies. "
Aaron Swarts, Assistant Director of Career and Calling, has been on the phones and engaging employers about the Business Career Fairs throughout the summer. He is beginning to see the fruits of his labor come to fruition as 25 employers have already registered for the fall Business Career Fair. "Employers and students are excited about our first-ever Business, Accounting, and Marketing Career Fair! Employers are looking forward to meeting students who are interested in business, and students are looking forward to connecting with employers in the Houston metro-area and beyond. In The Office of Career and Calling, we are excited about making these connections happen daily, especially at our boutique career fairs."
