The Modern “Gold Rush”

In the 19th century enormous reserves of mineral gold were discovered in California that instigated the great “Gold Rush”. The lure for instant success led whole cities to pack up and move west. This rush for success essentially led to the creation of California.

If it was not for the lure of success, many people would not have rushed to new frontier and contributed to the great state of California with all its diversity.

Similarly today we have a new ”gold rush” but let’s call it the “Social Media-rush”. More businesses and entrepreneurs are realizing how they can fast-track their success on popular social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook & LinkedIn. We see so many companies rushing out to the new terrain; except its not filled with foxes, bears and gophers… instead there are data bytes, selfies and click baits.

How to maneuver this new rush? Well a guide would be helpful. Someone who has traveled the harsh terrain, learned all the short-cuts, discovered all the pitfalls and is willing to take you along the journey to find your gold mine

Social Media has become more than the idle student in class peeking under his desk to play candy crush, or the young employee who’s fixated and sharing a selfie over snap chat… it has become a part of every household and family.

Wi-fi has become more valuable than water.

The brave, adventurous pioneers who risked everything to hit it big in the 19th Century, are now the brave, adventurous entrepreneurs of the 21st Century who see the millions of dollars in potential of social media.
