Modern F.C. perform @ DSAA 7-aside

After weeks of practice, the time arrived for Modern F.C. to compete with the other 16 teams that made up the participants of the second DSAA 7-aside football competition in 2018.

In the previous DSAA competition back in February, Modern F.C. found goals and victories in short supply. But team improvements have been significant with goals (and victories) plentiful. In the Semi-finals, Modern F.C. was up against GAC. Modern F.C. took the lead, only for GAC to draw level a minute or so before full time. The game went to penalties. Unusually, penalties could not separate the teams either - so the ref decided the game would be called on the flip of a coin - which went in GAC's favour.

Despite losing out (all be it down to a coin toss) there are many positives we take away from this. In addition to having a great day at a well-organised event (thank you DSAA!) we have seen first hand just how much a team can develop in a short time with focus, training and enthusiasm.
