Modena by McCarron and Company

The concept here was to create a feeling of rich luxury through the trademark McCarron & Company mix of materials. The Leather and Walnut bar area feels like a gentleman's desk, while the Mirrored splash-back, bevelled and broken down into bespoke tiles, organises the rear wall whilst injecting a sense of consideration as to how the light will be reflected into the scheme.  

The specially designed and machined handles are inspired by a range of cutlery by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and feel deliberate and appropriate in the hand. The significant bevel motif on the furniture frames is a challenge to execute with perfection, however, conceptually they bring order to the furniture by producing lighter and darker areas in the elevations defining and reinforcing each panel. This motif also creates interesting junctions at the corners of the furniture We have then extrapolated that same motif in detailing the stone, bar, cornice and canopy.
