Philippines - Oct. 31/24 - Megawide Construction Corp Transfers Remaining GMCAC Shares to Aboitiz Infrastructure Capital
Megawide Construction Corp. has transferred its remaining GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. (GMCAC) shares to Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. (AIC) in exchange for PHP7.76bn. While the transaction reaffirmed AIC’s role as the exclusive developer and operator of the internationally recognized gateway, Megawide said the deal will help lower its outstanding liabilities and enhance its liquidity.
Iraq - Oct. 25/24 - Iraqi PM Presided Over Meeting With IFC Delegation on Baghdad Airport PPP Project
Media reported that Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani presided over a meeting with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to follow up on the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP) development project. The meeting focused on the steps taken by the IFC to attract investors and specialized airport management companies.
United Kingdom - Oct. 24/24 - Savills Appointed to Market Gloucester Airport
Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucester City Council confirmed that real estate advisor Savills has been appointed to market Gloucester Airport. Rowena Hay, leader of Cheltenham Borough Council, said they are selling the airport as they do not have the "commercial investments" it needs.
Brazil - Oct. 23/24 - GRU Airport Extends Concession Contract
The Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) allowed the operator of Guarulhos Airport to extend the contract for another year and four months in exchange for new investments, such as the expansion of passenger terminal 3. In the ruling, the ministers also approved the inclusion of 28 regional airports in the Guarulhos contract.
