Poland - Jun. 26/24 - Government of Poland to Go Ahead With Plans for CPK
According to Prime Minister Donald Tusk,?Poland will go ahead with plans conceived by the previous government to build a huge air hub in the centre of the country, but with amendments.?Tusk said the CPK airport would be built in Baranow in central Poland, but that regional airports and the Okecie (Chopin) and Modlin airports serving the capital Warsaw would also be modernised.
United Kingdom - Jun. 14/24 - Public Investment Fund and Ardian to Acquire Almost 38% of Heathrow Airport
Public Investment Fund and Ardian are to acquire almost 38% of Heathrow Airport. Ardian and PIF had made an offer “to acquire shares representing 37.62% of the share capital” for GBP3.26bn (US$4.26bn), according to Ferrovial. The revised airport deal, accepted by Ferrovial, increases the Saudi-French commitment after other shareholders joined Ferrovial in selling.
Bahamas - Jun. 13/24 - Bahamas Government to Begin Work on Redevelopment of Family Islands Airports in 2025
Bahamas Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation Chester Cooper said that the government will begin work on the redevelopment of a number of Family Island airports in the next year.Construction will also resume on Exuma International Airport this summer. Cat Island is also slated to have its new airport completed by the end of 2025.
Peru - Jun. 12/24 - Government of Peru to Advance Concession of Third Group of Airports
Media reported that the Peruvian government will advance the concession to private hands of the third group made up of eight airports in different regions of the country. This public-private partnership is expected to make a preliminary investment of US$220mn to modernize, rehabilitate, improve, operate and maintain the air terminals of Jaén (JAE), Huánuco (HUU), Jauja (JAU), Ilo (ILQ) , Rioja (RIJ), Chimbote (CHM) and Yurimaguas (YMS).
Hungary - Jun. 6/24 - VINCI Airports Has Acquired a 20% Shareholding in Budapest Airport
It has been announced that VINCI Airports has acquired a 20% shareholding in the Budapest Airport concession company, becoming its operator. The Hungarian state paid EUR2.48bn for an 80% stake, while VINCI Airports paid EUR620mn for a 20% stake. This acquisition is part of a EUR3.1bn transaction, plus a EUR1.2bn in net debt.
