An agreement crafted between the Federal Audit Court (TCU), the federal government, and RIOgale?o aims to secure the concession of Rio de Janeiro's Tom Jobim International Airport, setting the operation's value at BRL600mn. The amount will serve as the minimum bid for the airport, which will undergo a streamlined bidding process to attract potential investors. Despite an arrangement allowing the operator Changi (the majority stakeholder in RIOgale?o) to continue at the terminal, the asset must be put on the market to prevent any legal challenges regarding potential favoritism.

Ecuador- Jan. 13/25 - Eloy Alfaro Airport Handed Over to the General Directorate of Civil Aviation

Media reported that The Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) handed over the Eloy Alfaro Airport to the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC). The transfer took place on 10 Jan 2025, after the MTOP solved several problems in the airport structure, such as the air filters and the baggage conveyor belts. The DGAC now has the responsibility of the occupation, administration and maintenance of the airport facilities.
