Montenegro - Jan. 25/24 - Montenegro Authorizes Transport Ministry to Resume Talks with IFC on Launching 2nd Stage of Airport Tender

Montenegro's government said it authorised the transport ministry to resume talks with International Finance Corporation (IFC) on launching the second stage of a tender for awarding a 30-year concession contract to run the country's two international airports, in Podgorica and Tivat.

India - Jan. 27/24 - GMR Airports Limited Completes Acquisition of 11% Stake in Hyderabad Airport

Media reported that GMR Airports Limited (GAL) has completed acquisition of 11% stake of GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL), from Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) Group. Post these acquisitions, GAL's shareholding in GHIAL has increased from 63% to 74%.

United Kingdom - Jan. 21/24 - Gloucestershire Airport Not to Be Sold Before Council Elections

Gloucestershire Airport will not be sold before this year’s council elections, according to civic chiefs who stress that “it won't be covered in housing” whatever happens. Group leaders were given a tour of the airport earlier in the week and were briefed about possible investment opportunities and the airport’s recovery post-Covid.

The Board of Directors of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF), a member company of GROWTHFUND – The National Fund of Greece, decided on January 11, 2024, to terminate the international tender process for the sale of HRADF’s shares amounting to 30% in the share capital of Athens International Airport SA (“AIA”).

Brazil - Jan. 12/24 - ANAC Signs Service Order Authorizing Zurich Airport to Commence Operations at Natal Airport

Media reported that The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) signed the service order that authorizing Zurich Airport to gradually begin operations at NAT. In the coming days, Zurich will operate at the airport together with the current operator, Inframérica. It will then take over 100% of the activities.
