Mobilizing Intelligence
It’s been a while since I posted, so this is a great opportunity to share some reflections from last week’s leadership meetings.?It was terrific to hear Tammy Erickson speak again, whose research on multi-generational workforce was so spot on and well received at one of our sales meetings back in my IBM days.?Tammy continues her research in what makes organizations of today successful yet different.??It's all about mobilizing intelligence:
-?????????Collaborating, sensing, listening, and innovating is hard to measure and observe, yet it’s the crucks of the knowledge workforce of toda
-?????????Leaders need to make it easy for people to do things organizations care most about. ?You can never optimize for everything, so what tradeoffs in process and structure are we willing to make?
-?????????As a leader the only thing you have is time and attention.?According to Peter Drucker, we need to accept the fact that we have to treat almost everyone as a volunteer.?
3 Organizational Principles of today:
-?Options
-?Choices and flexibility
-?Trust
