Mobilising our head and heart in support of a better world

A recent picture on Facebook showed 1 million children across 6,000 schools meditating for peace in Thailand. Whether the image is real or not, the idea is still a profound one. Imagine the combined impact of 1 million people focused on one outcome. Meditation studies over the years have demonstrated the impacts that can be had when we raise our frequency through meditation and even more so when we do that in groups with a common goal.

When we activate and sustain a focus with both our head and our heart, we are capable of incredible outcomes. The combined power of the disciplined, focused, arrow like intensity of the will coming through the head and the power of a loving heart radiating and embracing all is a heady cocktail of energy and creative force.

Knowing the many global factors that would benefit from such clarity of intention what is stopping us from activating the creative solutions needed? On the one hand, it’s not that easy to gather our head and heart qualities to a sufficiently high level without some determined effort and practise (and here we come back to the practice of meditation).? On the other, achieving alignment across large groups of people is also a massive undertaking.

But before we lose heart, let us recall the many flashmob experiments that have sprung up over the years in which hundreds of random people ‘act’ together to sing, dance or both. And if we start with our own individual practice of focusing our intention toward a higher goal, imbued with love and goodwill, we will start creating an invisible yet palpable ‘flashmob’. In fact, many of these already exist as groups of meditators dedicated to helping Humanity and the planet come together in a network of higher intention. Isn’t it time to add your power to these too?

Beautiful article of the impact of focusing on our head and our heart, my dear friend Lorraine Flower. And when we are able to connect with our own head and heart... we are in a position to connect with the heads and hearts of others. Much thanks, Lorraine.
