Mobile WorkShop - Growth
As we look at this section, its hard to just read and experience it on your own, but I'll try to point out some of the cool things these features do! However, this is a little bit more secret sauce and vertical specific, so don't expect to wake up tomorrow with 100k more mobile users. But, we can always hope! :-))))
As always, we hope you spend your week working hard, but when you're taking a breath on the weekend, think a little harder about the big picture. To help you along, here is section 6 of the Kaszek Mobile Playbook, Growth. This isn't a pure marketing deck, we have that too, but instead more focused on a variety of approaches.
Just a reminder:
The Workshop outline:
- Pre-Product
- Tenets of Navigation for Mobile
- Tenets of Mobile Experience
- Mobile Site Specifics
- Baby Steps Toward App Success
- Growth

- The Future
- Thoughts on All the Apps Featured!
So, starting with a favorite mobile experience, Restorando. Here, to grow, you have to think continuity, its all about making sure the user knows what they're getting into. The big take-away is that your experience doesn't start when they open the app, that's actually step 4!
Then think ASO. App Store Optimization matters... a lot! There is a reason there are companies built around this whole concept. And I'm not saying to keyword stuff your app, what I mean is really build a great experience that reflects what you do. The user should understand quickly and easily what you do! Plus look at that awesome image splitting (and rating!!!)
Then contextual onboard, because Day 1 matters! If you want my full opinion on this, go here: https://www.dhirubhai.net/pulse/all-days-created-equal-gmic-sp-presentation-andy-young/
And then to grow, you need to hook the users, I mean look at my first recommended add. You better believe that if I get my Mom onto a messaging app, I'm stuck there! I do highly suggest downloading Marco Polo and seeing who they suggest, it's pretty friggin' good at identifying who is important in your life!
And here are a handful of of functionals, but really, they are already half-outdated 9 months later, but the core beliefs are the same. MGM and having a good K matters because it means you're thoughtful on your branding and sharing. Creatives have changes so much in 9 months (Canvas, Collections, Instagram!) so always stay cutting edge. Automation and Big Data = Machine Learning today. And yes, Content is Still King.
And finally some homework for all of you.
I'd scrap the Learn in favor of the new Google Play tools https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/138230?hl=en
Which you can learn about here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6gOg-ruEFE in Portuguese from @Daniel Trócoli
