The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League recently became the first esports event series to reach 1 billion hours watched in the Esports Charts database, which has been maintained since 2016. Niko Partners notes that this database only tracks esports event viewership outside China and does not fully capture the two-decade long history of esports. It would be more accurate to say that Moonton's MOBA game has become the most viewed mobile esport outside of China. The ML:BB Professional League was announced in 2017 as Moonton Games established an official top-level esports scene for their mobile gaming title. Originally only taking place in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, it's quickly grown and expanded to more regions including Latin America and MENA. The M6 World Championship is set to take place between November 21 and December 15 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with a $1m prize pool.??
Honor of Kings achieves 100 million DAU for second time?
Tencent Games confirmed that Honor of Kings surpassed 100 million daily active users on October 26, 2024, coinciding with the game’s 9th anniversary. The 5v5 MOBA game for mobile first achieved this record in November 2020, becoming the first title to achieve the milestone. Niko Partners research shows that Honor of Kings has been the #1 grossing mobile game in China annually since 2017. The milestone is notable as it comes after new regulations limited the amount of time that minors can spend playing games each week. However, it also comes after the global rollout for the game took place earlier this year.??

Each participating college will be eligible to collect over $2,400 from the $240,000 prize pool announced for the Tour, which began in August and has already concluded competitions in 14 universities. The tournament will run till March 2025.?
We note the College Campus Tour is among several Krafton-led or sponsored esports tournaments that have taken place in the country this year. These tournaments have mostly focused on Battlegrounds Mobile India, one of the two most popular battle royale titles in India (the other being Free Fire MAX). Niko Partners research has found that over 49% of mobile gamers in India play battle royale titles, demonstrating the genre's continued popularity in the country.?
