Mobile First Officially Rolls Out

It has been a long time coming, but Mobile First is officially here!

Since it was first announced in November 2016, everyone has been wondering just what Mobile First was going to do to search results. Well, w're going to start to find out!

Do you need to be worried about what this means for you? Initially, probably not. Google is only transferring sites that are ready over to the Mobile First index at the moment. There will undoubtedly be a time where everyone moves over, so now would be a good time to check and see if your site is ready.

Google is also going to notify site owners by way of a message in Search Console when they have moved as well.

Prior to Mobile First, Google used the desktop site to determine search positions. This is now going to change by using the mobile version of your content.

Google has also made it a little easier for all those who are wondering how they can make pages more mobile friendly, like relaxing the rule on indexing content hidden behind tabs or accordions.

Time to start upping your mobile game!
