Custom app...#1 cool way to build patient referrals

A cool and smart friend of mine developed a custom mobile app for private practices that is affordable. The company is called MedTunnel. Our company, Venops, is a strategic partner with MedTunnel. We love their original app because it is an easy way to communicate between two parties that is HIPAA compliant. And it is free! Check it out. And since Venops is a compliance company, it was a great fit. So why talk about their new custom app?
Because apps are cool. And compliance, well, not so much. If this were a TV ad, compliance guys would be wearing khaki's, oxfords, and a short-sleeved dress shirt and the custom app people would be in T-shirt, cool jeans, and Tom's shoes. I exaggerate a bit, but not much. Bring up compliance to a busy doctor or administrator, and then watch their eyes film over. It is like talking about taxes... painful, but necessary.
Our company, Venops, does federal/state exclusion list screening. Our customers are private practices and healthcare facilities. They know screening is a mandate from the OIG and so they hire us to do the dirty work. It is very time consuming for them to do it correctly. There are federal lists, state lists, you get the picture. We automate it, document that it is done, eliminate their fear of getting fined, and help them avoid the all-consuming investigations that are part of any OIG audit or compliance issue.
The fines and civil monetary penalties for not doing compliance stuff are real. And we overcome the boring factor by risk or fear factor. But sometimes it is fun to be the cool kid. So we are hanging out with the cool apps, talking to our client practices about both Venops and MedTunnel. We help them manage the OIG's mandatory Exclusion List screening and we bring more value by telling them about using the MedTunnel app to maintain HIPAA compliant communication with patients and other providers. And our clients are liking what they hear about the new custom app too. Finally, a compliance product that helps them build the practice, do a better job communicating with patients, and possibly make more money.
Here are some facts that go beyond cool....
By 2018 the global mHealth market is projected to reach $21.5 Billion!
90% of online interaction is done using mobile phones. Just look in the waiting room!
