Moar: The App that's Changing the notion of Community

We spotlight two of our creators who are using Moar to create a whole new sense of community.

‘It's more than an app: it's a family. We grow together, we support each other’

The conversation around social media platforms in today's media is overwhelmingly negative, a fact that's becoming more and more pronounced with issues such as trolling, online harassment, and the pervasive presence of keyboard warriors frequently commanding the headlines. In other words, if you’re looking for a safe space online, a social media platform is hardly a strong bet.

Moar is looking to change all of that - and judging by comments from some of our creators, we’re setting a precedent.

We recently spoke to two of our favourite creators on Moar, KnockKnock and HotDogLeg.? Both seasoned streamers and creators, they opened up to us about their journey with Moar, and why they feel it just might be a live application that will help to reshape the realm of digital community.

Cultivating a Vibrant Community

HotDogLeg Presenting on Moar

HotDogLeg has been writing and hosting real world quizzes for seven years and, like the rest of the world, moved them online during the pandemic. KnockKnock has run his own games on Moar and has a starred background in working with some of the biggest creators in the UK. They have both seen the change in social media first hand: ’Unfortunately toxic comments do rise to the top and stand proud above the others,’ says HDL. ‘In a world of toxic and aggressive and negative commentary on most social media platforms’ says KnockKnock, ‘Moar is a nice kind of haven. The community is always supportive. If someone completely new arrives, I've seen very welcoming comments, people are very encouraging’.

Of course the challenge is to remain a haven during growth. KnockKnock has an idea of how to maintain the friendly community vibe:

In my work I have helped nurture online communities to millions of subscribers and followers. I’ve found the best way to manage a community is to ‘lead by example’. Showing kindness, respect and empathy as a leader provides guidance to a community on how they are expected to interact with each other.?

For both of these creators, Moar stands out for its unparalleled emphasis on community spirit. ‘The support and encouragement within the community are what really sets Moar apart, says KnockKnock. HotDogLeg echoes this sentiment, highlighting the genuine connections formed on the platform.

‘I love the instant interaction when hosting games on Moar. It really feels like a two way conversation with players, which is so much fun’.

If you haven't yet, feel free to join us and see the community on Moar.
