??? Continental Tire & Sunday Night Soccer
New to this season's MLS Season Pass coverage is Sunday Night Soccer—a special game broadcast featuring enhanced production and dedicated studio programming. The first game featured league debutant San Diego FC who defeated defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy. Ahead of the weekend, Continental Tire—a 15-season partner of MLS—was announced as the presenting partner of the broadcast.
?? NWSL docuseries debuts March 6
A docuseries tracking the 2024 NWSL playoffs and championship will debut on Prime Video on March 6. For the Win: NWSL is a four-part series taking fans behind the scenes of the thrilling playoffs. The series includes interviews, locker room access, game highlights, and more. A trailer for the series was also released, which you can watch here.
??? Sounders introduce new fan program
Earlier this week the Seattle Sounders announced a new fan engagement program called "First Match On Us." In tandem with club partner (and sleeve sponsor) Puyallup Tribe of Indians and Emrald Queen Casino, the Sounders are providing Washington community members the ability to attend their first-ever game at no cost. In addition to receiving a pair of tickets, first-timers will also have access to a special welcome experience, free gift, and more.
?? Spring training event nears profitability
In February, 14 MLS teams, six NWSL teams, and three USL teams participated in the Coachella Valley Invitational in Indio, CA. The fourth edition of the preseason event pre-sold more than 20,000 tickets—a metric signaling the AEG-owned event is approaching break-even and potential profitability. ?? Chris Richards invests in local club
A recent trend in the soccer industry is USMNT players investing in local professional teams. Timothy Weah (Brooklyn FC) and Tyler Adams (Westchester SC) are recent examples. Crystal Palace and USMNT defender Chris Richards is the latest to become an owner, joining the ownership group of hometown club Birmingham Legion FC of the USL Championship.
? Bundesliga club to foster U.S. talent
Borussia M?nchengladbach and International Soccer Academy have entered a partnership that sees the Bundesliga club increase its presence in the U.S. As part of the deal, 20 U18 players from across the U.S. will live and train in M?nchengladbach each year, starting in August 2025. For the club, it allows them to establish their brand, expand partnerships, and strengthen its connection with current and future fans.
