MLM Reps- “If You Haven’t Made At Least $4,000 In The Last 90 Days…DO NOT Let Your Leaders Or Company Know You’re Reading This…”
Something is wrong, very very wrong. Honestly, it could be YOU. If you’re not taking action yet, shame on you.
But, if you’ve done everything your company and/or leaders have suggested and you’re not making an extra $1000-$1500 a month, in your spare time, less than 7 hours per week…shame on your company AND your leaders.
No excuses. I don’t believe in them, at all. They don’t exist. If you’re not making money, quickly, in this business it’s either because you don’t want to or your company and/or leaders don’t want you to…period. Everything else aren’t excuses…they’re reasons why you, your company or leaders don’t want to. In other words, someone’s lazy- YOU, your company and/or your leaders. Period.
To continue being blunt, the truth is, your entire company from the top down, makes more money, the more money they help you make. Period.
Think about that for just a minute.
You know the crap some people spew about MLM being a pyramid? Um, every system of management- government, companies, etc…they’re ALL pyramids. But what most people really fail to understand is the nature of these pyramids and how they differ from one another.
In most pyramids, like government and traditional employers, the concept to profitability is based on extracting the most for the least, out of the bottom. Governments tax more than they provide and the more they tax the bottom and/or middle, the more they prosper. Employers prosper by getting the most labor, productivity, for the lowest cost.
MLM’s, on the other hand, work in reverse. Companies and leaders only make more money when those at the bottom make more money. Sure, there’s some slimy stuff that some companies and leaders do- like introducing more products and selling the hell out of them to the downline and/or front loading someone into signing for thousands of dollars. But, in general, every single person who becomes a distributor in MLM IS the top of their own pyramid and the more people under them who are making money, the more money they make.
The ONLY problem with MLM as a business model is when people get lazy- your company, your leaders and/or YOU. Period.
If more companies truly internalized this concept, they’d try much, much harder. If leaders truly internalized this concept, same thing.
Of course, for salespeople, this starts with the comp plan. You don’t motivate salespeople to focus on their downline. Salespeople, aka Recruiters, aren’t motivated, they’re driven. It’s in their very nature. They’re driven to make their money by selling, recruiting.
You can’t train salespeople to look out for their downline.
You can provide a comp plan that pays salespeople to learn to become Builders. Salespeople, once they figure it out, will always do whatever they have to do to make the most money for the least effort. That’s human nature, combined with the nature of salespeople.
If the money in your comp plan is more focused on recruiting instead of duplicating/building, that’s what salespeople will do because that’s where the money is.
The problem is that companies have the same problem with their nature as the humans behind them- the nature to do the least for the most. Nepotism in business, all business, comes from this very nature. What’s easier, taking someone in the mailroom and teaching them to become the CEO or poaching a CEO from another company? What’s easier, taking someone who’s never made money in this business and teaching them how or poaching someone who is a top rank at another company?
Taking human nature a step further, what’s easier, raising a child or making another one? (Guess that question isn’t really balanced for man and woman equally but, you probably get the point).
That’s why a lot companies don’t focus on effective training. Companies, typically, focus on recruiting other Recruiters out of other companies. This in turn, causes more focus on recruiting.
Dexter and Birdie Yeager were some of the first distributors to figure this out in their journey with Amway. So they built a system that focused on duplication, not recruiting.
My point is that IF, you’re one of those rare people who really does and is taking action…if you’re not making over a grand month within 90 days, something is broken and it ISN’T you.
This is why I help people learn how to master both the warm and the cold market. Mastering both markets means no one, ever, runs out of qualified prospects. Then, I focus on teaching those people how to duplicate what they’ve learned. It’s a total and complete SYSTEM. I teach and focus on duplication.
Unfortunately, companies focus on how fast they can get to a certain sales level, like salespeople, instead of duplication. What this leads to is training systems that ‘water down’ how this business is built. Most systems teach you, the individual, how to go out and promote your business, products and/or services. This is a CORE failure mechanism. It looks like empowerment for success but, it only duplicates failure. Why? Because success in this business is built through partnerships, not through individual effort and most companies forget this in their effort to hit revenue targets.
So, you end up with a company that does over $100mil a year but, the percentage of people making money is actually falling.
With this information, what are you going to do with it or what are you going to do about it?
I hope you’ll find someone who can teach you a system like that, a system focused on duplication or I hope that you’ll learn to build your own.
Although I’m focused on building in the field, adding over 100 reps a month, I also make time to teach a free, live class to help other leaders, in other companies, to build a complete system for their teams too.
Maybe you’ll check it out…
