Where the story begins

Let me take you back to 1983, a year that would unknowingly shape the rest of my life. I was just 5 years old, living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. My dad’s friend had invited us over for dinner one evening, and after the meal, he played a movie that would ignite a spark in me—a spark that still burns brightly to this day.

That movie was Michael Jackson’s Thriller. I remember it vividly: the moment when Michael turned into a werewolf, his yellow eyes piercing the screen, followed by that unforgettable dance scene. The twists in the story—first, he’s a werewolf, then suddenly he’s in a theater watching the movie with his girlfriend, and just when you think it’s over, he becomes a zombie, only for it all to be a dream—it was pure magic to me.

As a child, I was captivated. The storytelling, the choreography, the red leather jacket, and the way everything came together so perfectly on the beat—it was unlike anything I had ever seen. The dance was like magic, a perfect symphony of movement that mastered the entire story through choreography. It was so inspiring that it taught me an invaluable lesson: perfecting the details will always perfect the story.

This experience was more than just watching a movie; it was the moment I fell in love with storytelling. It opened my mind to a completely new way of thinking, of creating. The intricate choreography and the twists in the narrative taught me that every detail matters, that the way a story unfolds can captivate and leave a lasting impression.

From that day on, I knew I wanted to be involved in creating stories that resonate, that move people, and that stay with them long after the credits roll. This moment from my childhood continues to influence my creative thinking and storytelling approach in everything I do.
