Mixel-Egypt COVID-19 Action plan

Dear HR & HD Community,

As I found a lot of our community are asking to share their organization's action plan & Work From Home Policy to be applied during the time we're facing now, I'd like to share with you our company's COVID-19 action plan published Sat, 14th of March'20, may it be a helpful reference.

"In light of the recent Corona virus outbreak, Mixel takes all reasonable precaution to ensure that illness and infection do not spread in the workplace.

Employees also have the highest responsibility for taking measures to assist the company prevent the spread of infectious diseases, we will cooperatively work together till we pass this period safe and sound.

Please find below our action plan that we all have to abide moving forward:

We are keen to ensure that all employees maintain high levels of hygiene to keep the chance of contamination to an absolute minimum, and will provide all the support in this regard.

  • We encourage Work From Home (WFH) whenever possible. You are requested to assure not affecting your productivity while WFH.
  • We will work to improve WFH experience, remote access, etc..
  • Case would be 50%-75% WFH for the applicable, in case not, come to office and we will apply rotation accordingly. We will work with the leads and keep you informed with the updates.
  • Simply. WFH if you can, or you are welcomed to come to our clean and disinfected office if you cannot.
  • We will disinfect the premises daily in the morning (7 a.m. till 8 a.m.) and at night (8 p.m. till 9 p.m.) please arrange to work away from disinfecting process hours by coming after 8 a.m. and leaving before 8 p.m. 
  • In case you come to office; arrange to work away from disinfecting process hours by coming after 8 a.m. and leaving before 8 p.m. 
  • We will provide alcohol sprays to be used for disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces including cellphones, keys,…etc. in addition to frequent disinfection applied through the day.
  • All on-premise meetings in the meeting rooms are cancelled. You can attend the meetings remotely from your space.
  • Unlimited sick leave is granted for anyone who has any type of cough, sneeze, flu, or fever. Do NOT come to office if you have any cough, sneeze, flu, or fever symptoms. You would either WFH, or rest depending on your medical condition.
  • We will provide all necessary support for employees to enable efficient WFH.

In addition to the above, please read and apply below points:

  • When at office, keep enough space between you and others at all times
  • Avoid close contact, shaking hands, hugging, kissing, etc .. All greetings shall all be verbal and no physical contact is welcomed.
  • You should take a deep breath every morning & evening, Don't hold your breath, and report to a medical care service provider once you feel any ache during breathing or in case of not being able to take your breath properly.
  • Increase your intake of Vitamin-C.
  • Do not share glasses, eating utensils, water bottles, etc.
  • Avoid being present in crowded places, or being in contact with any recent travelers who could potentially be infected.
  • Encourage Internet banking & Online shopping.
  • If you think you may have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19, please do not attend to work and inform us immediately.

4. Working-From-Home Guidelines to assure making it as productive as possible:

  • Employees have full responsibility to ensure that WFH is as effective as possible.
  • You are requested to start arranging for a suitable WFH environment ASAP effective today and confirm its readiness.
  • You are requested to arrange for a stable internet connection at home ASAP effective today and confirm arrangement.
  • Please seek help in applying needed software/remote access requirements as needed.
  • Please take any needed portable equipment that support you to WFH on daily basis and inform Admin team.
  • We will operate as business-as-usual, you are obliged to be present remotely as requested.
  • Managers and team leaders must assure proper arrangement of communication and work division.
  • You will report your work progress to your TL/Manager as requested.
  • It is your responsibility to keep your Teams Application status up-to-date; if you are not present at a moment, update your status before you go and again when you return to working. 
  • You will continue to have urgent or important team meetings, weekly status meetings, and 1:1 meetings as needed through conference calls, or MS-Teams.

5. What should an employee do in case of feeling sick or have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19?

  • In case of feeling sick, inside or outside of work and developing a cough, fever (fever is 100.4°F/38°C or higher) or trouble breathing, please inform us immediately, and do not come o office, stay home and self-isolate. This means avoiding close contact (one meter or nearer) with other people, including family members, masking symptoms with paracetamol ( the approved medication to be used in case of infection) does not make you less contagious to others.
  • In case he/she suspects the diagnosis, contact a health care service provider immediately to get advised with next steps. Employee shall inform us day by day with his health condition.
  • You should monitor yourself for symptoms for 14 days and take your temperature twice a day, perform the breathing exercise mentioned above twice a day.
  • Follow all medical advice to recover from your infection a soon as possible.
  • You are not expected to return to work until you receive expert medical advice that you are no longer infectious.
  • In the case of diarrhea and vomiting, stay home for at least 48 hours after the symptoms have stopped.

Finally, we want to remind you to be vigilant in taking precautions to prevent the spread of illnesses. Practicing good hygiene will help ensure the health and safety of everyone around us.
