Mix- Up is no mistake......
Very proud to work with so many colleagues who have been in Star for so long. It's a testament to so many things. We aren't blinkered though that this brings with it a need to work even harder to bring in "outside ideas" and that's why the business is so committed to working better and better with www.ceed-scotland.com wherever we can. I'm grateful to have been on the board for nearly 10 years and the life experience has been invaluable to me in my career. Taking a step back we asked ourselves on the board and with other industry leaders what was great about CeeD and they echoed the opportunity to learn but opined that sometimes it is in short bursts and a bit impersonal.
The solution? Create a mentoring 1-2-1 but not within our business but within our community. MIX UP
I've got to be honest I'd forgotten the concept had been shared and explored so was delighted when a colleague said to me, "what's this CeeD-mentoring thing all about that I've been asked to get involved in?
The idea had been picked up by Joe and the team at CeeD and with support from our good friends at Skills Development Scotland had evolved into a trial programme.
so what is it?
Well, Star will offer mentors to the community and we will host other members team delegates to share ideas. We will also dispatch some of our team to spend time inside other businesses. Of course what will also be created is a cohort who will learn from each other hopefully adding lifelong connections.
