Mitch Kowalski On His Newest Book, "The Great Legal Reformation: Notes From the Field."

Mitch Kowalski was recognized as a Fastcase 50 Global Legal Innovator in 2012, and he is the author of the critically acclaimed American Bar Association best-seller, Avoiding Extinction: Reimagining Legal Services for the 21st Century & he discusses his just-released book, The Great Legal Reformation: Notes From the Field, in a podcast released Monday.*

Key excerpts include the benefits of law firms facing the unique challenges of the 21st century of being able to leverage resources outside the legal field-- both capital investment and high-skilled executives-- to better compete. Additionally, he emphasizes the need to better leverage technology, but, significantly, that technology in a vacuum is near-worthless. Technologies utilized by law firms must be employed in such a way to enhance or improve existing processes and practices.

Also special thanks to Mitch for a chapter in his new book dedicated to our firm's utilization of Lean Six Sigma, our partnership with UNCC's school of engineering, a journey that began over five years ago, and the importance of mapping out workflow processes and marrying technology offerings to that workflow! It is touched on at 7:45 to about 11:30 in the podcast: https://www.countertax.ca/bnlpodcast/s02e10-mitch-kowalski

From Lessig to Kowalski, we should be paying attention and making adjustments accordingly. Code is law.
