Mister

Mister

When my wife and I were first married, like most young couples, we worked and earned less than $125 a week. Love does magic with a weekly income. Mixed with twinkling dust, hard work, and discipline, the amount you have counts to add up to a happy married 57 years.

We had one car and my wife dropped me off for work and drove to her job.? She then picked me up after work.

One Friday during rush hour in Atlanta, I waited for her to pick me up after work.? Standing at the busy Five Points Intersection in Atlanta, I knew that with all the traffic, she would be late. The five-direction lights changed several times in a short period.

Suddenly, a small boy asked me, “Mister, when can we go?” When the red light signaled it was okay to cross, I said, “You can go now.” Minutes later, I was asked the same question; the boy had not moved. Once again, when our red light came on, I said, “You can go now.”

Experiencing traffic fright, the young boy said, “Mister, I am not going till you do.”
