Mistakes in Peak of Excitement!

Welcome to the 11th edition of "The Corporate Hanuman" newsletter series on LinkedIn. In this edition, we delve into the profound wisdom gleaned from Hanuman Ji's journey through the Sundarkand in Valmiki Ramayan. The Sundarkand presents a complex tapestry of Hanuman's triumph and inner conflict as he sets Lanka ablaze, only to confront the consequences of his actions. In the midst of the raging inferno, he grapples with intense remorse and concern for Sita's safety. Yet, amidst this turmoil, a moment of realization dawns upon him, heralding a profound shift in perspective.

Now, we delve into the significance of realizing the highest mistakes during the peak of excitement. Hanuman recognizes that despite his knowledge, his anger had clouded his judgment, resulting in a grave error. He learns that even with intelligence, anger renders knowledge useless. Moreover, he understands the value of blessings, which act as a protective coating, shielding one from the fiery elements of the world.

As the story unfolds in chapters 55 and 56 of Sundarkand in Valmiki Ramayan, Hanuman’s initial smile of victory turns into a worried frown. He reflects on the magnitude of his mistake, realizing that he had unintentionally burned the entire Lanka without ensuring Sita’s safety.

However, a transformative thought changes Hanuman’s perspective. He ponders over how he remained unharmed by the intense fire and realizes that it was due to Mother Sita’s blessings and Lord Rama’s grace. This revelation leads him to believe that if he was unscathed, Sita would also be unharmed. Supported by auspicious signs, Hanuman decides to confirm this by visiting Sita:

In a moment, Hanuman lands in Ashoka Vatika, approaching the Simshupa tree beneath which Sita was seated. He observes her deep in prayer, offering heartfelt prayers for his safety. Touched by her motherly care and affection, Hanuman assumes his small form, as a tiny Vanar whom Sita recognizes as her son. Sita expresses her delight at seeing Hanuman safe and praises his boldness and intelligence in carrying out his mission. She admires his role in teaching Raavan and the rakshas community a lesson in humility by dispelling their misconception of invincibility. Sita reiterates her commitment to wait for Lord Rama’s return within the one-month deadline, emphasizing her choice to give credit and glory to Ram while helping save the captive women in Lanka.

After paying his respects to Sita, Hanuman leaped away from Ashoka Vatika and landed on the Arisht mountain, situated on the distant edge of Lanka that extended into the vast ocean.

Hanuman’s excitement surges as he realizes he is one step closer to reuniting with Lord Ram and his friends. With great anticipation, he sprints towards the edge of the mountain to embark on yet another historic leap across the ocean. As Hanuman takes off, his size increases and the southern winds propel him forward.
