Mistakes to avoid while making a new website in 2023
As a co-founder of a Digital Marketing company, I and my team have worked on many new websites. We?have learned from our own mistakes, as well as those of others. Here are some common mistakes that you should avoid while making a new website in 2023:
Design is not everything
The design of your website can make or break its success. If you want to stand out from the competition and get noticed, then having a well-designed website is a must. But it’s important to remember that design is not everything. The look and feel of your website will only attract visitors if there are other elements like quality content and usability that help them stay for longer periods of time on your site—and hopefully convert into customers!
Don’t use moving backgrounds
Moving backgrounds can be distracting and bad for user experience. While they may be visually appealing, they can distract users from the content on your website. For example, if you have a moving background that takes up half of a page or more, this will make it harder for people to find what they're looking for.
Moving backgrounds also affect SEO negatively. Search engines like Google use bots to crawl websites and index them into their search engine results pages (SERPs). These bots are programmed to only read text within certain size blocks on webpages called "text blocks". If a bot encounters an image that moves or changes in any way during its crawl of your site, then that text block is considered invalid by search engines because it did not contain any useful information about your website. Moving images can cause some major problems when trying to optimize your website's SEO efforts using keywords and meta descriptions with rich snippets
Don’t use Flash for navigation
Flash is not mobile-friendly and will not be in 2023. Flash is not SEO friendly, as it’s hard for search engines to index the content of a flash file. Flash can also be hard to access by people with disabilities because it isn’t supported on all devices or browsers.
Do not ignore your mobile users
You probably know that mobile usage is increasing. It's important to note, however, that people who use their phones or tablets as their primary devices are different from desktop users. They have different needs and expectations and tend to have different habits.
Mobile users want a fast experience, for one thing: 65% of web users expect a website to load in two seconds or less. To put this into perspective, it takes an average of 0.3 seconds for you to blink your eyes blindingly fast—and even if your site was loaded by the time you blinked again, those milliseconds would be noticed!
Don't Ignore SEO
It's essential that you don't ignore SEO.
●???SEO is important for any website. If you have a blog and your main goal is to get more followers, then SEO will help you reach the people who are interested in what you're blogging about.
●???SEO is also important for your business. If one of your goals with the website is to sell products online (or just get more customers), then having high search engine rankings will help you reach those potential customers faster and cheaper than if they had to find your site through other means like ads or word-of-mouth recommendations from friends or family members.

●???It's not just about getting found by people though—it's also about making sure that those same people find what they need when they arrive at one of your pages because otherwise why would they keep coming back? So you should always encourage them along by creating content which answers common questions while providing unique insights into whatever problem(s) might be solved through reading your posts each day.
Do Not Overuse Keywords
It's a common misconception that having high search engine rankings is all about keywords. While keyword optimization is still important in 2022, it's not the only thing you need to focus on when crafting your new website.
In 2022, search engines are more focused on the overall user experience than ever before. The best way to make your website stand out from the crowd is by creating content that matches your audience's needs and interests—not just stuffing it with keywords so you could score higher on Google's SERPs (search engine results pages).
If you want people to find your site organically through organic search traffic, then make sure that both the content and design of your site are optimized for users' ease-of-use and long-term engagement.* You can do this by focusing on good usability, clear navigation, writing style that resonates with readers/users in their unique context/culture/language (whether they speak English or another language), etc.
Provide contact details on every page
●???Make sure the contact details are easy to find.
●???Include a contact form.
●???Include your email address, phone number and physical address in addition to your social media links and other contact information.
Always try to make a better website than you did last time
As you move forward with your next website, keep in mind that the best way to avoid making mistakes is to try to make something better than you did last time. Don't just do the same thing again and again.
Don’t be afraid of trying new things—the only way we learn is by doing.
Don't be afraid of asking for help when you need it. If there's anything that I've learned over my years working on websites, it's that no one knows everything (and no one should pretend like they do). It’s okay if someone else has done something similar before; we all have different perspectives and experiences which will add value to our work together!
Never forget: sometimes what may seem like an obvious mistake could actually turn out well… or not... either way, don't be afraid to admit when something doesn't work out as planned because this will help us learn from our past mistakes so we can move forward into a better future together! Media Mavericks has been focused on providing the best website development services to clients and I can proudly say we have created some amazing websites over the years!
