The Mission to Save One Million Lives
Insurance Collaboration to Save Lives
Global insurance leaders working to seek answers, save lives and mitigate loss
The Insurance Collaboration to Save Lives (“ICSL”) is officially a 501c3 tax-exempt organization! Leaders from all lines of insurance have joined this global health initiative in deploying targeted screening, testing, and triage to identify those policyholders most at risk for critical care incidents providing the framework to mitigate loss by saving one million lives. Our contributors and leadership are dedicated to meeting the challenges that ongoing excess mortality and elevated morbidity pose to the industry as a whole and society at large.
Our group comprises insurance executives, actuaries, analysts, agents, attorneys, medical doctors, regulators, and technology experts who have come together on a volunteer basis. Despite a decline in COVID-related deaths, excess mortality continues to persist, particularly among younger populations, posing significant challenges to the insurance industry and society. ICSL proposes a proactive approach by implementing targeted health screenings and blood tests to identify policyholders at risk of critical health events, enabling timely interventions that could save lives and reduce insurance losses. The initiative seeks to mobilize insurance companies to leverage their actuarial and medical expertise for large-scale deployment of these programs, emphasizing that such actions require no new technology but rather leadership and collaboration within the industry. By doing so, ICSL aims to mitigate the financial impact of increased mortality on insurers and enhance public health outcomes.
