Planning is one of the most important tools for success. The future will always be a mystery. The best tool we have to prepare for a better future is to create a plan. It’s amazing how much lighter and easy-going a day can feel when you have planned it the day before. Apart from having better preparation and generating better results, planning greatly reduces stress and anxiety.?
On Day 22, we touched on weekly planning. I have chosen my simplified method to plan my week, so you can also easily replicate/implement it. I divided it into 3 stepsz
On Day 23, we talked about finances! Today we finished buying the last details for the wedding. Oh, I am so excited! For this, we started making a list of things that were left to buy and we made an estimate of each one to make a baseline budget. We then added a contingency budget of 10-15% on top of the baseline budget to make sure we were within the budget at the end of the day.
One super cool thing that I would love to share is that Santi and I bought a new perfume to use for the events of the wedding. We heard that you associate smells with different memories, events, and stages in your life. So in our case when we wear that perfume on future dates like our anniversary, we will be back in the memory line.??
On Day 24, I talk about one of my dreams becoming a reality. It has always been my dream to attend a personal development conference to be surrounded by leaders in the industry and people that share my life vision.?
I first went and bought tickets for the chosen event which was the Summit of Greatness by Lewis Howes, someone whom I admire greatly. I then made a list of preparation for the event which included the following:
On Day 25, I traveled to the Summit of Greatness! I was very nervous but excited at the same time. I know extraordinary moments and learnings will come from this. I went to the airport for a very short plane ride (about an hour). It is always a unique feeling every time I look through the window when I travel. It is my reminder that we are the ones that set the limits and that EVERYTHING is possible.
I arrived and the excitement I had been feeling increased tenfold once I got to Columbus. I made my way to the hotel, checked in, and went to buy breakfast and snacks to make sure I always had a healthy option available.?
Then I walked towards the theater where the event was taking place. After so many years of seeing videos of the Summit, and now living it in person, it felt unreal. Then, I met up with Yaitza, who was my Summit buddy in this incredible experience. We explored the place together and for me, the most exciting part was seeing all the speakers. It was a reminder of why I was there… because one day I will be part of this group as well!
The night before Day 26, I saw that the organizer shared something about a “secret run” happening the following morning, and obviously, I was taking full advantage of every opportunity the event had to offer. So, Day 26 began in the hotel’s park where we met up with Lewis to go on a run. Then I got to the hotel, I quickly changed and I headed to my first workshop. I chose the one about relationships with Chirs Lee and I loved it! He taught us 7 keys to reaching massive success in relationships. Here is the summary
1. Self-love: self-forgiveness and forgiving other people. Making a conscious choice to let something go - when you forgive you are free.
2. Self-inventory: what are your superpowers? Self-worth generates net worth.

3. Vision: what is your vision for your relationships?
4. Intimacy: relationships are the key to success - for relationships you need intimacy and connection.
5. Boundaries: boundaries in your communication, listening, activities, and sex - what are your core values that are non-negotiable?
6. Become a chameleon: in order for all relationships to thrive you need to be willing to step out of your comfort zone. Connect to other people's agenda and their energy, understanding what works for them. Be interested vs. Interesting. You need to be a chameleon, and meet what's wanted and needed.
7. Live life with urgency: we don't have tomorrow guaranteed. All we have is this moment. Be present in each moment of your life.
Later on, I got the chance to meet the actress and writer, Martha Higareda! She’s an extraordinary woman who has had such a successful career and is also so humble and charismatic. After all of this, we went to eat and that's when we met the rest of our tribe Meg2 and Neharikka. This would become the group of women that would make this experience extra special.
On Day 27, the Summit of Greatness by Lewis Howes was officially kicked off. I started my day at 5 am when I woke up to go on a group run. I loved Columbus at night because it had a magic touch with its lighting.
The first speaker was Michael Beckwith. My biggest takeaway from that talk was to open up our hearts to people with values and beliefs different from ours without permitting their energy to affect ours. Then Dr. Caroline Leaf presented and my biggest takeaway was to understand that the cause of depression is not our brain, nor our genes, it is our life circumstances. Lastly, but definitely not least came my favorite speaker, Rory Vanen. He is the mastermind behind the most recognized influencers in our industry. My biggest takeaway from Rory was that our discipline will vanish if we don’t have clear dreams and goals.?
On Day 28, the second day of the summit began. The day started with a Yoga class at 6 am with my friend. I will confess that it is one of the hardest types of exercise for me, but we did it! I loved it especially because the instructor was a motivational Yoga teacher. Basically, during the class, she would say motivational phrases and intentions to start the day.
Then we heard the first Latin speaker, Erwin Mcmanus. What I liked about his keynote was that he said that the most beautiful thing about having a good relationship with God is that there is no limit to what is possible. After Erwin, Gabby Bernstein followed. My takeaway from her presentation was that what limits our accomplishments is our self-doubt. Then I went to hear the keynote of the second Latin speaker, Dr. Mariel Buque. She made a great emphasis on the effect of our emotions on our bodies.
After hearing all of these amazing talks, I reunited with my tribe and we did a visualization exercise where we declared all of the things that we will accomplish one year from today.?
Week four is done, 10 more to go! Join me in this journey as I turn this so-called “setback” into the best opportunity of my life.
