For Week 11 of mission possible we changed up our approach. For the last 30 days of the challenge I will be sharing some of the key tools and tips that have helped me and my clients reach new heights in the five areas of their lives - health, relationships, finances, personal development and career.?
On Day 71, I touched on the great power that comes with delegating. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as we would like it to be. There are three key things that I have learned to get better at delegating:
- Make sure you are working with the best: you want people that are trained, and have the experience and the results to back it up. Most importantly, make sure they align with your vision and are committed to your project. Ask for examples of their past work and evaluate what type of questions they ask you. This will be key in finding the best-fit person for the job.
- Empower your team: make sure to give them all the tools necessary to do their work. Remember that the sky is the limit, create an engaged and psychological safe environment.
- Standardize: put systems and processes in place to make work efficient and simple. Make high-quality results replicable.?
On Day 72, I shared five red flags of someone with low self-esteem:
- Have a difficult time setting up limits: you find it hard to say no, say what bothers you. This allows other people to invade your privacy and space, agreeing to do something to please others
- Continuously compare with people around you: comparing yourself with people around you or even with people you don't know without taking into account that you don't know what is going on in their life.
- Self-criticising yourself: we tend to criticize everything we do, having the idea that nothing we do is right.
- Feeling guilty: exaggerate our mistakes, continually blaming ourselves for a minor mistake, without taking into account that thanks to that we improve and learn
- Asking for approval: trying to always look for someone to approve you and saying what they want to hear. Seeking their approval of your actions, words, decisions.q
On Day 73, I share with you sleeping hacks that changed my life. Did you know that 1 in every 3 people suffers from sleep deprivation? Here I will share 4 hacks that changed my life.
- Create a relaxing space that stimulates sleepiness: this includes blinds that block out the exterior light, lowering the temperature at night to more than 23 degrees celsius, and using ear plugs to block out exterior sounds that may keep you awake.
- Be careful with what you eat or drink before going to bed: it is best to not eat heavy foods or drinks with caffeine about 2-4 hours before sleeping.
- Limit your screen time before sleeping: the intense colors and brightness stimulate our brain and make it difficult to relax and fall asleep. Ideally, you want to avoid looking at any bright screens 2 hours before going to sleep.
- Create a bedtime routine: this could include taking a warm shower, reading a book, and doing meditation or a relaxation exercise right before hopping into bed.
On Day 74, I shared with you 3 beliefs that are limiting your ability to make new friends:
- People don’t like me: there is a study that calls this the liking gap. We tend to underestimate how likable we can be. Yes, it is true that you cannot be liked by everyone, but the probability that every single person in the world doesn’t like you is inexistent.
- I will not be able to find another best friend: remember that there are different kinds of friendships. For example, acquaintances, friends for specific activities, or friends for life. My invitation is for you to not try to force people into certain categories. This will limit the possibility of creating new relationships.?
- I am way too busy and tired to go out and meet new people: you need around ~94 hours for someone to become an acquatence and ~160 hours for them to become your close friend. There are no shortcuts to building valuable and long-lasting friendships.?
On Day 75, I will share with you the 3 golden rules for entrepreneurship, we call them the 3Cs.
- Clarity: what is the business model? What are you offering? What is your ideal client profile or audience? What is your differentiator? What is your value proposition?
- Confidence: in your abilities and your tool kit.?
- Caution: plan ahead and prepare yourself. Validate your business model and establish a plan of revenue and expenses.?
For Day 76 was for anyone that frequently postpones important tasks. Here you can find 6 tips to avoid procrastinating:
- Chunk down: break big tasks into smaller ones that are more manageable.
- Find someone that will keep you accountable
- Eliminate distractions
- Use the 5-second rule. Countdown to 5 - 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and just do it!
- Find a person that has gotten the outcome you are looking to accomplish and ask them what steps they took to get there.
- Understand better the purpose, importance, or impact of completing the task
If you liked yesterday, Day 77 will be even better. It is key to understand what is driving our actions so that we can find the best solution. Here are 5 reasons we constantly postpone work:
- We perceive the work as boring or bothersome
- We perceive the work as difficult, we may feel that we don’t have the capacity or ability necessary to complete it
- Low clarity: we are not exactly sure what we are even doing or what the end goal is
- Lack of structure: the “how” is not clearly defined. The steps to get there have not been defined.
- Lack of purpose or meaning: we don’t truly understand the “why” behind it or the urgency of doing it.
Week 11 is done, 3 more to go! Join me in this journey as I turn this so-called “setback” into the best opportunity of my life.
