Mission possible: 2nd DTRAX??-workshop in Kenya
Marc P. Diamantidis
A Sales Manager and Marketeer with 35+ years of experience, 15 within the medical technology, and Corporate Trainer with proven track record of delivering sales training programs to build world-class sales organizations.
Trainings involving complex medical products that need explanation, requires more than just theoretical knowledge; they should be practical and realistic. When participants from different cultures come together, it couldn't be more interesting. Case in point, this happened during the 2nd DTRAX??-workshop in Nairobi when German orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Marko Lay met Kenyan orthopedists and neurosurgeons to train the surgical technique together.
Like in an operating room, the practice premises of the Nairobi Spine & Orthopaedic Centre was prepared with a C-arm (image itensifier) required for the minimal invasive procedure. Many thanks to the Kenya Orthopaedic Association, the Neurological Society of Kenya and the Spine Surgeons of Kenya Association for making this happen.
In order to simulate the required anatomical patient characteristics, we used the Shiggy simulation model.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the course leader and instructor Marko Lay MD from Josephs Hospital Warendorf/Münster, Germany.
His practical know-how as an experienced DTRAX??-user, made a key difference. The participating surgeons were all very grateful for the useful tips and tricks that Marko Lay was able to convey to everyone.
We expect that the registration process will now proceed quickly, and we will receive approval from the Kenyan Pharmacy and Poisons Board soon.
Dear Kenyan colleagues, we look forward to your visit to Germany so that we can continue with our shared learning experience.
