1 年2of2 All that said, they are under "the same title" but not doing the same job. I have seen so many people doing excellent or good work by doing the role as it could be/should be. The "Rub" with HR tends to be on "job role description" there are many things not listed but make the difference between "just doing the job" and doing it well. Perspective/Understanding Looking at what impact the roles truly have. In doing so, they learn the basis beyond "just doing a job". It is a good way to teach. Making the connections and discussing. When I had shore facility responsibilities tied to the ports, it was done. A key to prevention. At sea, similar as they cross regions and perspectives are more broad. Localized for where they are at but, always looking beyond. At the moment, there are people on "FSO Safer" that are "doing a job" but they all know how much impact there is if done badly. Direct cost in lives for minimum loss of life on upto disaster level. Yet, they are doing the basics again & again. Each must be spot on, no mistakes, boom is bad. If they did not understand? Would they even be there doing such work? Would they be in the news for "issues"? So far, no news, work ongoing, day by day till complete

1 年1of2 Depends upon how people are taught. Some are taught that they are "just a number somewhere" while others are taught how they can make a difference in their work, communities, region and beyond. Perspectives I saw one perspective description as "melodramatic". Can see/understand their perspective if one simply looks at the role as "coastline janitor". Picking up after someone else's error or poor maintenance. As with so many roles needing to be filled in many aspects of life. The subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) differences between someone "just doing the job or filling a spot/"warm body in the field" and those who excel. Have been told by some they were as good as someone else as all are just doing the job. My comeback is "questionable" to many in "HR". When I had "ranges" in pay options, did not pay all equally. Some might say criminal but has nothing to do with all the things the usual complaints are (male/female, colours, religion, origin, so many things). Base it on the quality/work et al. Performance, creativity in problem solving, more. In every role/job, there are people who are excellent, good, fair, "just Ok"/marginal/"warm body in the field", not so good, bad, hazard to others.
