The 'SPY FILM' -aka- The 'SPY THRILLER' - is in fact a 'GENRE' of a film that deals with the subject art of 'FICTIONAL ESPIONAGE', either in a realistic way (such as the adaptations of John Le Carre - his 'pen name' - aka David John Moore Cornwell - his real name) or even as a basis for 'FANTASY' (such as the movies of James Bond) - a character created by Ian Fleming.

Now many novels in the 'SPY FICTION' category genre, have been adapted as movies such as John Buchan, the original Scottish author of 'THE 39 STEPS', who wrote it while he was still in bed with a 'duodenal ulcer' - this was classed as 'an illness' which has remained with him all his life.

The story follows Richard Hannay, whose boredom with London's society is soon relieved when the resourceful 'engineer' originally from South Africa is soon caught up in a 'WEB' that's full of 'SECRET CODES', 'SPIES' and also murder on the eve of WWI.

However, when a neighbour is subsequently killed in his flat, Hannay, suspected, decodes the journal, and runs away into the wilds of his native Scotland in various disguises and also distinguishes himself by speaking in local dialects evades the Germans as well as various officials who by the way are tracking his every move as a fugitive on the run.

So far there are 'three film versions' of 'THE 39 STEPS' - the 1935 'black and white version' directed by Alfred Hitchcock and featuring Robert Donat, then there's the 1959 version - the first in colour directed by Ralph Thomas and featuring Kenneth More - and then there's the 1978 film version - this was titled as ' THE THIRTY-NINE STEPS directed by Don Sharp and featuring Robert Powell, Sir John Mills,David Warner and also Eric Porter - this was my favourite version of the three films - because it featured 'THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT' in the movie.

Here what follows is a 'TRUE STORY'.

Back in 1983, - 'FORTY YEARS AGO' - when I attended Abraham Moss College, in the Autumn of 1981 - around September - i was there between 1981- 1983 - lasting two years this was situated between the borders of Crumpsall and Cheetham Hill, suburbs of North Manchester.

I went on a college day trip with my colleagues as a end of year treat for all our hard work to the capital City of London, and whilst on the train travelling down to the Capital from Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station to London Euston Railway Station we were given the option of visiting 'THE LONDON DUNGEON' or travelling on the London Underground - just for the record yours truly opted for the pleasures of travelling on the London Underground .

Anyway we arrived in the Capital and we were just inside 'THE HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT' and 'GUESS WHAT' - 'yours truly' was one of only three people to visit this iconic buiilding - it was after all 'MAGNIFICENT' - just to look and appriciate its history - and that every time i see the 1978 film version - it always remind me of that visit.

But according to William, his son, explains that he later wrote that 'the name of the original book' originated when the author's daughter was simply 'COUNTING THE STAIRS' at St Cuby, a private nursing home situated on Cliff Promenade, in Broadstairs, this is originally known as 'a coastal town' on the Isle of Thanet, and situated on the Thanet district of East Kent, England, about eighty miles (130 km) east of London and where Buchan was in fact convalescing from his procedure.

Buchan was also 'THE FIRST BARON TWEEDSMUIR' who was also an historian, unionist, and also served as Governor General of Canada, the 15th since Canadian Confederation.

It is also a significant aspect of British cinema, with leading British film directors such as Alfred Hitchcock and Carol Reed - making 'NOTABLE CONTRIBUTIONS' and also many films that are set in the 'BRITISH SECRET SERVICE'.

Spy films however show the espionage activities of government agents and also their risk of being discovered by their 'ENEMIES'.

They begin from the 1940's - with the Nazi espionage thrillers, right through the 1960's of the James Bond movies, and up-to-date with the high-tech movie blockbusters of today, - the 'SPY FILM' has always been popular with movie audiences worldwide.

For these films offers a combination of exciting 'ESCAPISM', technological 'THRILLS', and also 'EXOTIC LOCALES',they also combine the genres of 'ACTION' as well as 'SCIENCE-FICTION', by presenting a clearly delineated heroes for the 'movie audiences' to root for and also the villains for them to hate, and they may even involve elements of 'POLITICAL THRILLERS', however, they are many that are also 'COMEDIC', - (these are also mostly classed as 'ACTION COMEDY FILMS' - combining action and comedy - if they fall under that category of genre) - in question.

The most famous of film spies ever to be shown in cinema - happens to be James Bond, but there were others too like 'Jason Bourne' - which like Bond - also happens to become a franchise film series in its own right, however there were also more probing serious works such as 'THE SPY WHO CAME IN FROM THE COLD' - written by Le Carre - and featuring Richard Burton in the film version, produced and directed by Martin Ritt as Alex Leamas, a British MI6 (formerly known as the Secret Intelligence Service - SIS) agent, and which also emerged from the 'COLD WAR' - this was in fact - a geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union - and also their -'RESPECTIVE ALLIES' - 'THE WESTERN BLOC' and also 'THE EASTERN BLOC'.

As for the term 'COLD WAR' - this is used because there was simply no 'LARGE-SCALE FIGHTING' directly between the 'TWO SUPERPOWERS', - but that they each supported 'OPPOSING SIDES' in major regional conflicts - simply known as - 'PROXY WARS'.

However, as the 'COLD WAR' ended - the newest villain simply became known as 'TERRORISM' - and also became more often involved in 'THE MIDDLE EAST' - this too was also a geopolitical tension between the regions of encompassing the following - 'THE ARABIAN PENINSULA', 'THE LEVANT', 'TURKEY', 'EGYPT', 'IRAN' and also 'IRAQ'.

The term came into widespread usage as a unique replacement of the term - 'NEAR EAST' - beginning in the early twentieth century.

'MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE' - on the other hand - is a series of American action spy films and based on the TV series of the same name and created by Bruce Bernard Geller, an American TV producer, screenwriter, director and lyricist.

The franchise film series is mainly produced by and stars Tom Cruise, who portrays Ethan Hunt, an agent of the IMPOSSIBLE MISSIONS FORCE - IMF.

The films itself in question have beeen directed by various filmmakers such as Brian De Palma, John Woo, J J - Jeffrey Jacob - Abrams , Brad Bird and Christopher McQuarrie - written by David Koepp, Robert Towne, Drew Pearce, Steven Zaillian, Brannon Braga, Ronald D.Moore, Alex Kurtzman, Andre Nemec, Roberto Orci, Josh Appelbaum, Erik Jendressen, Abrams and McQuarrie - and also music-scored by the likes of Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, Joe Kraemer and Lorne Balfe, - aka - the crew - while incorporating musical themes from the original series by Lalo Schifrin.

When the franchise film series began in 1996, the films in question - (taking place and beginning at least six years - after the events of the previous TV sequel series) - follow the daring missions of the IMF's main field team, under Hunt's leadership, to stop an enemy force and also prevent an impending global disaster.

Now the franchise film series focuses on Hunt's character, and also likened with the television's series's structure, is also complemented by an ensembled cast of regular major characters players that are simply involved in the film's franchise series - such as Luther Stickell,(Rhames), Benji Dunn,(Pegg) Ilsa Faust,(Ferguson), and even Alanna Mitsopolis,- (Kirby - aka 'The White Widow' ) who happens to be the daughter of Max Mitsopolis (Vanessa Redgrave) - who was also in 'MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE - the first part of the film franchise - as an 'ILLEGAL ARMS DEALER' - and also JOB'S CONTACT - aka JOB 314/JIM PHELPS - (Jon Voight) - who also ironically appeared in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - along with Redgrave as well ) - who all have recurring roles in the franchise film series.

Also the franchise film series - in question, - has been in fact - positively received from many film critics - and also many movie audiences - and it is also 'the 18th-highest-grossing' film series of all-time - earning over $3.5 billion (£2,753,747,500.00 - UK) - worldwide - and is also often cited as 'ONE OF THE BEST ACTION FRANCHISES TO DATE' - while 'FALLOUT' - the sixth - 'and most recent film in the franchise - released in movie theaters - worldwide - on July 27, 2018, - 'five years earlier' - and is also currently - 'THE HIGHEST GROSSING ENTRY' - in the 'FRANCHISE SERIES' - in question, - while the 'seventh and also eighth movies' ( that's what happens in a franchise film series as the final part is split into two 'EPIC' chunks) - consisting of 'TWO EPIC FEATURE LENGTH PARTS' - entitled as - 'DEAD RECKONING' - will also serve as a - 'BOOKEND' - to the film series in question, - also just for the record - 'PART TWO' - of the conclusion to the franchise - will be released in movie theaters - worldwide - on May 23, 2025.

One year earlier, - Summer 2022 - 'Top Gun: Maverick' - featuring Cruise 'reprising his role' as Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell - no relation, only by surname, - was in fact - one hell of a 'side-project' - but in Summer 2023, Cruise returns to the role - and also what is considered to be 'the action god's main event' - and also boasting about 'SIX ACCLAIMED ACTION-PACKED MOVIES' - in the franchise film series - and also $3.5 billion - (£2,761,430,000.00 -UK) - in 'BOX-OFFICE BOOTY' since 1996, - 'twenty-seven years ago' - there's also a solid pub argument that no action-genre franchise series is no bigger than 'MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE' - in question.

Way back in January 2019, - when - the 'long-awaited mere announcement' - of the 'MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE DEAD RECKONING PART ONE' epic 'two-parter' - was just exciting enough to crack and also break the internet - but also when the Part One trailer dropped in May 2023, - this 'epic-mother of an epic movie' - features all the main ingredients - like submarines, snipers, bike jumps, poison gas - and what appears to be 'the freaking Hogwarts Express' - plummeting off a bridge that about to be broken into many pieces - like going off the rails after a big celebration - into oblivion - the new - 'MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE' - adventure instalment - 'SMASHED IT COMPLETELY' ! .

This so happens to be 'the seventh instalment' in the franchise film series plus when Daniel Craig played James Bond 007, - he eventually got sick of the role after doing 'five instalments' - but Cruise himself has just turned 'sixty-one years' of age - he's older, he's wiser - and looks better than ever - and that when you're involved in a franchise such as this one - its like being chained up in wedded bliss to 'a king-size bed' plus being loyal to the job that you love so much in a perfect world.

However there are many other actors in their profession of his age that would jump at the chance and also might be turning to off-beat character turns - but the 'CRUISE-MISSILE' in question - was doing those for the likes of film directors such as Paul Thomas Anderson and also Michael Mann - twenty years earlier - and that the 'MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE' film series franchise - is his vocation in his own personal life and is very passionate it - and that Cruise himself has single-handedly persuaded us that the 'ACTION GENRE' in question - has a new respectability and also a purpose.

For Cruise himself is regarded as 'THE NEW MESSIAH' - a sort of 'THE MAN WHO CHAMPIONED THESE MOVIE BLOCKBUSTERS THAT WERE INVENTED AND ALSO STARRED IN THE GENRE OF THE ACTION MOVIE' - as well as 'THE MAN WHO WENT INTO MOVIE THEATERS BY WEARING A FACE MASK AND WATCHING A BLOCKBUSTER MOVIE AND THEREFORE SAVED THE FATE OF THE MOVIE THEATER FROM PURE EXTINCTION AND ALSO REGARDED AS THE BOX-OFFICE EXPERIENCE OF LIVE CINEMA'.

Interestingly, 'MI - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE' - had been in fact plagued by several delays due to the 'COVID-19 PANDEMIC' - plus film units all over the world - INCLUDING THIS - were also forced to close down while the 'VIRUS' was spreading and now PART TWO of this is in fact being held up by the 'UNGOING' of the 'WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA' - 'WGA' - strike - which is also impacting the production of 'FILMS AND TELEVISION SERIES' - across the world.

And now in this new instalment, Cruise himself as the most bankable film star faces his unusual nemesis yet - in the form of 'ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE' - aka - 'AI', - this turns out to be 'a high-powered virus' - that's simply known as 'THE ENTITY' - not the 1982 'supernatural' horror movie' directed by Sidney J Furie and featuring Barbara Hershey - but this 'ENTITY' involves 'a special key' that splits into two parts and has also become sentinent - and is also corrupting many digital databases - anyone heard of the Data Protection Act - like there's no tomorrow - and also which if the 'ENTITY' gets its anarchic way - there may not be... simply because it doesn't exsist - because it never happened.

Now Cruise himself has been regarded as the last line against the 'AI INVASION' - and also at a time when a sudden panic over the profitability over many movies that are shown on streaming services slash and also burn their own content - ie: their original idea - that only dreams are made of - and do come true - but at a unique price - while many of Hollywood writers remain on strike - Mr Cruise himself has positioned himself as the idealistic - as well as a patriotic alternative - and because at the end of the day Cruise is all that is human - right in the face of a cold and robotic future in our time on this planet which also consists him being built on pure muscle and even sweat - yes Ladies and Gentlemen we can simply say that Cruise is simply classed as 'an antidote cure' from all illnesses in all our lives.

The synopsis for this epic story - as you know - is split into 'TWO-PARTS' - the first part of this epic - aka Part 7- of the film series franchise lasts about 2 hours and 43 minutes (163 mins) - to be exact - and so in this latest instalment - as in so many in the past - all six previous MI movies are available to watch - uncut and commercial free - exclusively on Paramount Plus - a streaming service - and this one is no exception - for there are 'EVIL FORCES' lurking around this film in question - and who are also trying to get hold of a - 'MACGUFFINY' object - in question - which will permit them 'TO CONTROL AND ALSO DESTROY THE WORLD', but there are in fact 'one or even two connections to Hunt's past - which even Ethan as 'a secret agent' must use all of his skills - and even work out the problems in question - unlike Liam Neeson in the 'TAKEN' movies - as Bryan Mills, an ex-Green Beret and also an ex-CIA officer -and which that became a franchise film series in its own right.

And so it is down to Ethan and the gang in question consisting of Luther, Benji, Ilsa, and even Allana - who in the previous instalment 'had a tender moment with Ethan' - but this also includes Grace (Attwell), described as 'a mysterious character' - by way of her English 'sang-froid' - who also happens to be a criminal who meets and also gets cute with Ethan in the film franchise - and who comes along by joining the gang in question plus there's a bad-ass martial arts expert (Klementieff) who's classed as 'bloodthirsty' and this silent henchwoman is also exquisitely well-dressed and is also a slick combination between a classic Bond villain and DC's Harley Quinn and who's also intent to bring down Hunt at the behest of Gabriel (Morales) - Hunt's scary nemesis as well as Eugene Kittridge (Czerny) - the IMF'S former director - last seen in 'MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE' - the first movie in the movie franchise but for Kittridge - his dry repartee with Ethan hasn't lost 'a simple step' in the years between, as he wrestles with trusting Ethan's unique skills as his own position within US Intelligence, but also in question that he's somehow both oily and noble and also his unique loyalties as well as his 'true values are brilliantly opaque,

However also involved in the MISSION MIX are Jasper Briggs (Whigham), and Degas (Tarzan Davis) - his partner - for these are two intelligence officers - who have no idea of how to apprehend Hunt and his 'elite team' - but still give - 'the old college try' - for a rollercoaster of a wild ride in this action flick of an epic thriller.

Like all the other movies in the film series franchise - this one doesn't disappoint - and hits the 'BULLSEYE' - unlike 'THE BATTLE OF HASTINGS' - when in 1066, on October 14, at around - 'THE DAWN OF TIME' - where two armies consisting of between 'THE NORMAN FRENCH ARMY OF WILLIAM', 'THE DUKE OF NORMANDY', against an English army under HAROLD GODWINSON, THE ANGLO-SAXON KING, - thus beginning the NORMAN CONQUEST OF ENGLAND, as for the battle itself, this took place approximately about 'seven miles' (11km) northwest of Hastings, close to the 'present-day' town of 'BATTLE', situated in East Sussex.

This has plenty of action that's full-throttle from start to finish and it includes some tremendous stunt work, that includes 'a wacky ITALIAN JOB -STYLE chase' around Rome in a titchy yellow little FIAT vehicle - last seen in 'FOR YOUR EYES ONLY' - back in 1981 and featuring Sir Roger Moore as James Bond 007, also 'the biggest train scenes' since 'PADDINGTON 2' and also some very impressive horsemanship from Mr Cruise himself in the Arabian desert - and also wearing his Arabian headdress - as he is regarded as the seventh pillar of hunkiness- also just for the record - he's recreating the character of Sherif Ali bin el Karish originally portrayed by Omar Sharif in the Oscar-Winning epic classic 'LAWRENCE OF ARABIA' - directed by Sir David Lean.

There also follows 'a very tense opening sequence aboard a Russian submarine called the 'SEBASTOPOL' - its unique associations with Crimea being perhaps a rebuke with Putinist chauvinism - and which also introduces to a certain bejewelled cruciform key that breaks up and splits into two; for this is without doubt the oddly low-tech unique object whose owner, having reunited 'the halves' can in fact master a new and also a terrifying form of 'AI', - this is described as a self replicating digital consciousness with the capacity to invade any other operating system throughout the globe in question - however the genie in question is emerging from the bottle in itself.

Then of course there's the traditional 'analogue-era' scenes of Cruise sprinting around like Jason Bourne and even Jack Bauer - but its more like Usain Bolt, - known to many as 'THE FASTEST JAMAICAN SPRINTER IN THE WORLD' - as well as 'the rubber masks' supplied by Jim Carrey - star of the 'ACE VENTURA' movies and 'THE MASK' featuring Cameron Diaz - that's complete with a new comedy emphasis on all kinds of people - and who are suspiciously looking at many people's faces to see if they are genuinely 'REAL' or even 'FAKE' -but although there's a slightly 'goofy plot quirk' at one stage that requires Benji's plastic-mask- fabricating machine, a bit like a 'waffle-maker', that's about to go terribly wrong.

Also besides the ROMAN CAR-CHASE and also as well as A DEATH DEFYING CLIFF-JUMP - that I can only describe as 'SIMPLY JAW-DROPPING' -because I really have to tell you that when you see this - your jaw will simply drop on to the floor -, MI7 - DEAD RECKONING PART 1, itself - with plenty of 'SPECTACULAR SET-PIECES' - such as 'JUST FOR OIL' - described as an environmentalist group - originally founded in the UK after 'EXTINCTION REBELLION' - who recently 'INTERRUPTED MANY SPORTS EVENTS' - such as 'THE WORLD SNOOKER CHAMPIONSHIPS' situated in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, The 2nd Ashes Cricket Tournament match, situated at Lord's, St John's Wood, London, and even a recent tennis match - known as the Championship - and situated at Wimbledon, London, -where play was 'SUSPENDED - TWICE' ! - and also where some 'arse protesting dipstick' managed to get on to the tennis court and sprinkled on to the ground a brand-new box consisting of 'two hundred jigsaw pieces' - 'WHAT AN ABSOLUTE TOSS-POT' ! .

However, one has to give Mr Cruise - the main star of the movie - and also Christopher McQuarrie - the film director in credit for between the two of them keeps this film going like an ECO-DRIVE PERPETUAL WATCH - that simply keeps on going and also what happens in an action film that full of thrills and also treats this as just simply old-school.

They are also classed as 'canny old-stagers' who provide these OLD-SCHOOL THRILLERS' - that are normally released during the 1960's-1970's who treat these like pure originals - ie : brilliance in its time and also a perfectionist in cinematic history.

For these 'OLD-SCHOOL THRILLERS' have simply 'AGED' and also 'MATURED' like 'FINE WINE' - that's full-bodied and also has a rich favourably sweetest taste - in its time and have also become simply as classics - in their unique prime of quality.

However in spite of its limitations 'MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE DEAD RECKONING PART ONE' is in fact classed as 'A THRILLING RIDE' - from its opening shot to its dramatic conclusion and which every moment of this keeps you strapped inside your cinema seat - for this is one of those experiences that can simply be enjoyed by many cinema audiences who may be sceptical in regard to the 'MI' film franchise in question - and also whether the film in question - will in fact simply be remembered in its own right rather than blur into the blended memory of most of its predecessors - the action sequences in this - are in fact - consistently dynamic - and are simply always adapted to their own environment - in their unique way of life.

And so on conclusion to this film review of a film series franchise in question - for this is only Part One - where we just have to wait about eleven months until Part Two arrives - and also as we approach the season of Summer 2023 - where many blockbuster movies are released in movie theaters - that on a personal level - and which this is my own opinion of this - is as follows - for this is simply regarded as - 'AN ABSOLUTE EPIC MASTERPIECE OF A MONUMENTAL MOVIE MOTHER OF AN ACTION -PACKED MOVIE OF SHEER PERFECTIONIST' - because just watching this on a 'BIGGEST MOVIE SCREEN' - from - 'START' to 'FINISH' - for Cruise's dedication performing 'THESE DEATH-DEFYING-ACTION-STUNTS' - are in fact - 'SIMPLY OUT OF THIS WORLD'- and also this 'LAST ACTION HERO' - MORE EXCITING THAN ARNIE SCHWARZENEGGER - that is Cruise is simply known to many as - 'THE GREATEST SHOWMAN - because whatever he touches - unlike King Midas -aka- 'THE KING OF PHRYGIA' - which is in fact - 'AN ANCIENT DISTRICT THAT'S SITUATED IN WEST-CENTRAL ANATOLIA AND ALSO IS WHAT IS NOW ASIAN TURKEY' - turns into 100% pure prestigious gold - and also puts the man that's described and also disguised as 'THE MILK TRAY MAN' - and says those immortal words - such as - 'AND ALL BECAUSE THE LADY LOVES - SADLY NOT YOU' ! - in the shade from the burningly brightly hot sun.

Finally, 'YOUR MISSION SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO ACCEPT IT' -is simply this -that just before you see this 'EPIC MASTERPIECE' at your movie theater - which by the way is 'SIMPLY OUTSTANDING' - by the sheer performances who all appear- by all concerned throghout the movie, great ciinematography, superior 'cutting-edge' editing, a powerful music score, fabulous locations around the globe plus a train-roof chase that plays a homage tribute to 'THE GENERAL' - a 1927 'SILENT MOVIE' featuring Buster Keaton and also outstanding special-effects that will grip you throughout from opening-shot to its dramatic conclusion - and will have you simply looking shell-shocked and also feeling gob-smacked after seeing this on the big-screen.

But it is important to watch the majority of the earlier installments first and also after all we have waited a very long time - for this one - and also if 'MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART ONE'- was simply SUPERB ! - then 'MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - DEAD RECKONING PART TWO - of this film series franchise - will be even 'BETTER AND ALSO BRILLIANT' - like the first one - for this forthcoming conclusion is just simply like - 'THE ICING ON THE CAKE' - and therefore 'THE FILM FRANCHISE SERIES OF THESE MASTERPIECES IS FINALLY COMPLETE - unlike SIR ELTON JOHN'S LONG-AWAITED RETIREMENT FROM PERFORMING TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE ACROSS THE WORLD - AND ALSO CLASSED AS SIMPLY - 'THE CROWNING GLORY OF CRUISE HIMSELF - AND IS ALSO - 'THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE IN CINEMA HISTORY'.

So whatever you do - CANCEL EVERYTHING AND SEE THIS WONDERFUL EPIC MASTERPIECE AT YOUR MOVIE THEATER - BECAUSE MOVIES LIKE THESE DESERVE TO BE SEEN ON THE BIG SCREEN -WHERE THEY TRULY BELONG - BECAUSE AFTER ALL SEEING THIS AS 'THE SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER' OF 2023 - IS WITHOUT DOUBT - ' THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE'

This film review will 'SELF-DESTRUCT' - in 'FIVE SECONDS'.

Take care and Stay Safe
