Missing some gamers last weekend?
If you were like me, an old school gamer that grew up in the times of Diablo 1 and 2, Half-Life, Counterstrike, Command and Conquer, Red Alert....etc. then chances are high that you are probably online and testing out the Open Beta of soon to be released Diablo 4.
I purposely skipped the 1st few days of the open beta, because of the long queue of waiting players to log in, and made myself busy at work. Suddenly to remember that the Open beta is only open until March 27 (and it was already late March 26). So after fulfilling all my obligations during that Sunday (daddy duties), I hurriedly went online and played my game (woohoo!). I also recall that they are giving out free gifts if you managed to reach level 20

So against the odds (especially the time limit running down my neck), I grinded and slayed all the demons and beasts that stood in my way, while also accomplishing quests upon quests (knowing that it will all be worth it). I created my barbarian, and whirl winded my way to victory (eat your heart out Tasmanian Devil). The experience made me recall the numerous times I enjoyed playing this franchise, it was all very nostalgic and new at the same time (won't spoil it). The story and looks of the game did not disappoint one bit (with a few bugs, that is the purpose of the open beta, to see the bugs and stress test the server), but overall it was really good. The only sad part, you have to wait for a little more as the release is slated at June 6 2023
I have a few friends who have waited more than 11 years for this, and I can safely say that the wait will be worth it.
So if you were noticing a few gamer friends who are not on social media during last weekend, chances are high, they are probably back in Tristram ^_^
Thanks again Blizzard :D
