TL;DR:

"Even if I need the product or service you're selling, and I can afford it; I will more-than-likely be "turned off" by a rushed impersonal approach ... in this context, quality might be a lot more important than quantity."

We're not mere connections (on LinkedIn), and/or prospective clients. We're a community of humans (and professionals, as well as prospective clients, etc.).

As of this article's writing (Feb 2025), LinkedIn has evolved from its original purpose (or business identity, if you will)--i.e., a professional-networking social media portal, into a professional services marketplace. And even though most of us still use it for that former purpose--i.e., for professional networking, (I-for-one believe) it's okay for selling one's services or products on the platform.

Utlimately, for LinkedIn "buffs" like myself, LinkedIn is still a great online community. But there's the catch, friends; please note the emphasis on that last word above (repeated here, for emphasis): community!

The Key to Selling More/Better on #LinkedIn (?): Deeper Connections ("x 3")

Apropos that idea--of community, I welcome any/all corrections, if the sentiment I am about to express here is invalid or flawed:

In well-functioning communities, the people (community-members) should genuinely care about each other!

In other words, I can't--or, I shouldn't--just walk up to someone at my synagogue (or church, mosque, etc.), workplace, country club, etc.; briskly introduce myself, then proffer my business card!

Conclusive Point:

Similar to the three Ls of real estate, and/or the four Cs of diamond sales: I humbly suggest--dear colleague/friend, that the key to better sales on LinkedIn is (or should be considered) deeper connections! (Caveat: ...) I understand that many of us have thousands of followers and/or connections; thus, we might not really manage to easily foster that "close-knit" (virtual-) community environment.

Regardless, I know this for certain: even if I need the product or service you're selling, and I can afford it; I will more-than-likely be "turned off" by a rushed impersonal approach. In other words, in this context, quality might be a lot more important than quantity.

Case-in-Point: How can you expect a software-dev project manager and mental-health provider (in-training), who's been struggling with homelessness--per their previous LinkedIn posts, to afford your service(s)? Ultimately, this "dyed in the wool" democracy-capitalism advocate is more earnest about the (global / African) concept of "Ubuntu" (NOT this one--awesome though it is [??]!). Here--on LinkedIn, I am (indeed), because of you--yes, YOU, reading this!

You're not a mere "follower" or "connection"--or even acquaintance, or colleague--to me. To this human (Seif Sekalala), you are a fellow human--first, and foremost. And I sincerely and profusely thank you--my fellow muntu (human)--for your support*^ and fellowship.
