It’s an ad. In the form of an advertorial (Brand Connect), released in Forbes by White Page International, a company that has instituted this award. And it was given out in an event held on 29th Nov 2020.
AND NOW YOU FACEPALM YOURSELF
For sincerely wondering, why the brands that you admire are not featured in the Forbes list (except a few). And many marketing heads that you admire are not featured either (the ones listed probably are good people too).
Below is the disclaimer from Forbes on Brand Connect.
This is no different from UP Government releasing an ad in TIME magazine - where the copy spoke about how well the Govt has handled the Covid crisis. The CEO of BSE shared it on Twitter saying that the Govt’s initiatives are getting recognised and applauded by TIME. I think this “Truman Show meets IT-Cell meets Mirzapur meets Mark Zuckerberg” world that we live in is getting a little too much. Suggest let’s all delete the internet, trash the devices and go and do agriculture or something. And read PG Wodehouse or Mathrubootham and go to sleep : )
