Misfit - Aren't We All At Times?

In the acclaimed “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” a 1964 film produced by Rankin/Bass, there is a segment of the show where Yukon Cornelius, Herme & Rudolph visit the Island of Misfit Toys.
Amidst the jolly joyful music, they discover a Charlie in the Box, a doll that has nothing wrong on the outside and looks lovable, a sad yellow scooter, a spotted elephant, a choo choo with square wheels, a water pistol that shoots jelly, a bird that doesn’t fly yet swims, a cowboy that rides an ostrich, and a boat that can’t stay afloat.
It captured my full attention when I first saw this wonderful show - as a very young man. Today, I think I am still taken in by it.
Rudolph discovers - or at least announces that his travelling pals are also misfits, while Cornelius and Herme the Elf - who really wants to be a dentist - seem to have found others like them.
I always wondered why the dolly, possibly intended for Sue - was sent to the Island of Misfit Toys. She looked loveable enough to me.
In hindsight, is it possible that she didn’t have the confidence to be loved - and so no one picked her off the shelf at the toy store?
It made me think of all of you beautiful people who do not realize your beauty - that is inside and out.
Maybe you lost your mojo of confidence by one bad incident, or maybe no one told you how loved you truly are.

To be unwanted is never a satisfying feeling.
I am venturing a guess, but I suspect we have all been misfits at one time or another.
Maybe you have been there.
Maybe you have found your footing and acceptance in this world.
Hopefully, you have found friendship with at least one person in your life.
If not, please reach out.
