Misery loves company

Misery loves company

Although people are thirsty for happiness, truly (deep down) we are afraid of it. I mean, we have to.

For every good thing we have done on this earth, we commit ten awful ones and then we easily find them justifiable with the little good we’ve brought to the people around us. As individuals in a society, we are poor and rotten and damaged.

But you see… Damaged is beautiful because all damaged things have a story to tell, a personal conflict they’ve survived, a break-through moment when they became stronger and bigger. There is nothing attractive about easy, or happy, or content. How boring it is to be simply happy, right? You have nothing to whine about; No one feels sorry for you; All your frustrations are soundless to the ears around you. You become invisible.

And I’m not only talking about everything that’s happening right now, I’m talking about ALWAYS.

I only now realize that the Human was always the vampire books were written about and movies were crafted upon. As we are never satisfied with our own peace, we go and take the last drops of happiness from someone else. People do not consider themselves to be important and worthwhile when no one gives a shit about them.

Apparently you are only loved when everyone else feels sorry for you… so you crack and you give in to laziest tactic ever: you spread the hate.

How many times was your heartbroken by the closest of your friends? How many times did the people you loved the most suddenly became so ugly to your eyes? How long have you allowed others to take your happiness from you? How often did you feel guilty for feeling better than those around you?

But you know what? Me… I always thought that happiness loves silence and that envy will always look bad on you, no matter how much makeup you put on that face. It saddens my heart to realize how love is hardly contagious and how misery is so necessary for many to feel seen.

(As many of you already know, I adore writing in my free time. It relieves my spirit and inspires me to do other creative things. We all have a different perspective on life & it makes me actually happy to realize how ONE life can be seen so differently through so many wonderful eyes. Be silently happy & love loud).
