Being kind is one of humanity's greatest callings. Being there for others requires love and dedication. However, there are some misconceptions regarding acts of kindness that have permeated the minds of many individuals. These erroneous impressions need to be shifted because the world needs kindness more than ever.
HERE ARE SIX KEY MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT POWERFUL ACTS OF KINDNESS
Being kind does not mean you are a weak or soft person: Many people are of the view that the kindest individuals on earth are weak people and that they can easily be taken advantage of. This is an irony because the kindest of people are the strongest since they have a bigger heart to understand others and to help them in their darkest moments.
?
Being kind does not make you poor: Some people assume that showing kindness to others by giving them funds or your time is a terrible waste of resources and that doing so makes you poor since you do not receive back what you give out to charity. This is false. There is a common proverb that says, "The kindness you show to others will come back to you someday." This has been founded on the testimony of a few prominent philanthropists. Trust me, whatever humanitarian support you give to people always comes to you in different forms. Never stop being kind. Kindness is its own reward.
?
Kindness doesn't necessitate you to continuously give the most precious things because the little things are also important: Being kind does not require one to constantly prove a point by obtrusively striving to show concern beyond their grasp. It is important to remember that not everyone needs your costly supplies, but rather your time and those little things we sometimes overlook. For example, giving people who least expect it the greatest of respect, opening doors for others to board or alight from a vehicle, volunteering activities, buying someone a meal, among others these little acts of kindness have the potential to have greater impacts.
?
Kindness is only shown to the needy and the poor: It is erroneous for people to think that kindness is only shown to the poor. Kindness is something that is needed by individuals of all social strata. Every human on earth, in one way or another, needs some form of care, love, and acceptance. Kindness comes in different forms and in different situations. At every opportunity you get, try to be kind to others.
?
Being kind and compassionate are not the same thing: Kindness and compassion are usually used when it comes to charity. However, kindness is more about our deeds or the actions we take to help others, while compassion is about how someone understands another person's emotions when they are in a painful circumstance. Let’s not just be compassionate about other people’s situations but take action in the best way we can to assist them.
?
Kindness is not just about giving but genuinely giving from your heart: Being a powerful kindness advocate for so many years, I have witnessed people share their experiences on some charitable activities, and from our interactions, I have discovered that most people engage in acts of kindness just to appease the public and not out of a genuine heart. Kindness is about embodying it in every single human encounter, even when no one is looking.
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Conclusion:
Misconceptions about powerful acts of kindness include the idea that being kind makes you weak or poor. In reality, the kindest people are often the strongest and kindness can come back to you in different forms.?Kindness doesn't require one to give expensive things - it is the little things that count. Being kind is not limited to just helping those in need, but can be shown to anyone. Kindness comes in different forms and it is important to expand our kindness to all regardless of social status. Kindness is about taking action to help others, while compassion is about understanding someone's emotions. Kindness always comes from the heart and involves genuine giving, not just for show.
Wishing you a day where you don’t skip an opportunity to show kindness in your words and actions, it is a reflection of your character :)
