- Argentina’s surprise second-round results will make for an interesting final round. Sergio Massa, who represents the incumbent Peronist party, won the second round over Javier Mileli. An explanation
provided is that people prefer the status quo over radical changes. However, the wild card in this election could be Patricia Bullrich. Ms. Bullrich is the more mainstream conservative candidate. Who is Ms. Bullrich willing to work with? Massa or Mileli.?
- Last week’s post focused on Latin America’s reaction to events in the Middle East. Still, keep an eye on the relations between Colombia and Israel. It appears that the situation
has somewhat cooled down. Washington needs to keep an eye on this situation. Both Israel and Colombia are important countries in their respective regions. The last thing that the United States needs is for Colombia to ally itself with Venezuela.?
