MIS Marine
Marine Assurance technology experts delivering cutting-edge vetting and berth optimisation solutions.
As the leading Marine Assurance technology expert, MIS Marine is delighted to announce its membership to the Latin American Society of Maritime Oil Terminals and SBM Operators (SLOM).??
Marine business in the Americas region is highly developed, both technically and professionally, and contributes greatly to the world’s energy supply. Due to a rapidly changing regulatory and political environment, businesses need dynamic and intelligent solutions to drive operational standards.??
As an international, non-profit organisation, SLOM contributes to the development and improvement of marine safety across the Americas through mutual knowledge exchange and technical experience sharing. SLOM’s mission sets out to achieve integration between maritime oil terminals, authorities and companies across the region in order to promote best practice leading to safe, sustainable and efficient operations.
The annual SLOM conference is now renowned across the Americas and across the world. The conference integrates members (terminal operators, service and good providers, and professionals) with the shared commitment of safety, sustainability and operational performance.
?As a member, MIS Marine will now play an active part in contributing to the organisation’s efforts through the sharing of our extensive experience as a supplier of goods and services for maritime terminals and SBMs.?
Our goal is to raise the benchmark for Marine Assurance, providing user-friendly tools to simplify processes that encourage marine safety and environmental protection. We’re working towards an inclusive and engaging industry, where we can all learn from each other to ensure safe, efficient and high-performing operations.?
MIS Marine’s Managing Director Dominic McKnight Hardy commented on the membership: “Joining SLOM is a key step forward for MIS Marine due to our shared goal and commitment to raising awareness of the importance of Marine Assurance, Vetting and its application to Terminals and SBMs.??

“We are proud to be associated with such a distinguished Society and hope our membership, aligned with our increased presence in the region, will further strengthen the reach and impact of our joint efforts.”??
?MIS Marine’s expansion to the Americas market?
The Americas is a market of great interest to MIS Marine, and one where we feel we can do a lot to support energy companies, charterers and terminal operators in growing and developing their Marine Assurance practices. Not only with vetting systems, but also through advice on the development of assurance policies to promote effective risk management while increasing operational performance.?
However, we do recognise that there is great diversity in the market with several small to medium-sized companies, and differing vetting practices and experience in play across the region. We want to learn from this diversity and help to tailor and improve our approach in order to best support their businesses.?
?Understanding the landscape and the challenges currently faced, we believe there is an opportunity to work together in developing Marine Assurance services, processes and best practices to meet the specialist needs of the region.?
