The Mirror Quality

How many of us see Mirror daily? Probably all of us. We see Mirror to see how are we looking and if anything is not looking right, then we correct that. Wow! what a powerful tool to correct ourselves.
This Mirror quality is one of the great things which can be adopted in leadership skills. If we allow our Peers / Team members / Subordinates to act as Mirror for us and allow them to show us what is not right, then we can correct that thing and be a successful leader. Often in leadership roles, proactively seeking a genuine feedback to work upon is one of the most difficult thing. Leaders tend to ignore this aspect and if someone shows them the ‘Mirror’, then the same is not accepted in right sense.
Equally important is that how many times we hold the Mirror for our Peers / Team members / Subordinates and tell them to correct things for becoming a better leader. It also shows the ability of a leader to have difficult conversations. Leadership is not about being ‘Popular’ but it is about being ‘Correct’ and doing the ‘Right’ things.
This Mirror quality of allowing someone to show us the mirror and correct the things and also to hold the mirror for someone else, differentiates between a ‘Good’ leader and a ‘Successful’ leader. This is what I call as “The Mirror Quality”.
