The Mirror

I spent the last ten days with my spiritual coach on top of the Transylvanian mountains. He asked me to hold a mirror in a very difficult place for me, which I resisted. Today, I raised to that challenge. And I’m setting the intention to sustain this practice.

The role of a coach is to hold a mirror to their client.?So they can see themselves more clearly. With both their dark and bright sides. Acknowledging that one cannot exist without the other.?And the only way to become an expert in helping others see, is to see, understand and experience it yourself, both the darkest and the brightest of places. I have experienced more dark places than one could bear. And yet, the light on the other side has been brighter and shinier than ever imagined.

We all have a gift. And more often than not, the gifts we have, come from our wounds. As Leonard Cohen's lyrics say, “There's a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.”

What I do these days, is give people courage. The courage to allow the light through the cracks. I take people from being lost to being found, from being cynical to being positive and from being trapped to being completely free. I can hold the mirror for my clients because I know what it's like to be lost, to be cynical, and to be trapped. And I love to take people to places where they find the courage to look in the mirror and make their own audacious and positive choices to unlock their full potential. It's truly magical.

Most people think that getting some tools?or a magic formula is what's going to solve their problem. But the truth is that it's not the tools that will help you. It's the introspection, asking the right questions, identifying the real pain, naming it and opening up to it. It's about learning to be an imperfect human and sustain the image in the mirror long enough to solve any challenges in a completely different way.

The Audacity Spectrum

My audacious dream has been to write my book. ?My son’s Dan audacious dream has been to have his own zoo.?For a long time, both seemed an impossibility to me.?Yet, as I am writing my own book called "The Audacity Spectrum", ?Dan has received his offers from universities to study zoo conservation biology next year and possibilities look closer to reality than ever.

An Audacious Intention

During my time as an investment banker, I built a hotel, as a hobby!?It started with an audacious dare with my family around the dinner table. It took my dad one year to find a place with magnificent views over the Dracula Castle and another three years to build a hotel from the ground up! These days, I take leaders there on leadership retreats, with the next adventure planned for 22.5.2022! ?Looking at this date, I see five twos. I know today, there is never a coincidence. And I am setting the intention to take many, many audacious leaders on journeys they've never thought possible.

And as 22.22 approaches, I am setting the intention to visualise and manifest some more audacious dreams. For myself. My family and friends. And for my clients.
