Mirjam, I understand that time is very valuable, but I have a killer idea for you that could change lives

Ground-breaking tech hacks, immersive customer journeys and bewildering metaverse realities. This year has been full of promises.

No different to any other year, 2022 has been unexpected in many ways. Changing economic realities have kept us busy. As if this was not enough, the so-called multi-optionality intruded our modern lives.

So just before the weekend, this email hit my inbox at lightning speed. We surely love disruptive ideas at AXA , but I am not convinced that a killer notion adds sufficient lure::

"Hi Mirjam, I hope this message finds you well, and I understand that time is very valuable for you very well and you need to prioritize your task and calls accordingly, and I'm not here to do otherwise. I have a killer idea for you and AXA that I would like to share with you about how you could have an unfair advantage over the market in the next couple of months. Would you be open to discuss more next week? Thanks for reading this fast and wishing you a fantastic weekend."

Towards the end of this (yet again) extraordinary year there is only one rather down-to-earth thought to offer: to go from multi-optionality to "single speed". To take one priority at a time.

If you consider your abundant portfolio of life projects, there is no better time to step back than now. This is the time to focus on the few relevant things that remain to be done, at single speed.

Single speed equals to the one priority that you want to complete before year end. It is that one message you take from a meeting, that one outcome that you draw from a charged workday, that one promise you make for 2023. There is undeniable?power in simplicity.

So, in my mind AXA nailed it with this year's seasonal screensaver: Enjoy the moments that matter.
