Miracle inventions: police already catch criminals using special glasses with the function of recognizing faces
Hello everybody. We continue publications about miracle inventions.
Today we introduce to you invention in the field IT and protection of law and order.
Recently in China, the police began using sunglasses with a face recognition function. The new decision already helped to arrest 7 criminals and 26 owners of forged documents. The project is still at the testing stage and launched in the city of Zhengzhou, Henan Province.
Glasses developed by the technology company LLVision. Devices work with small wearable video cameras with the face recognition function that LLVision sells.
Chinese police are using facial recognition glasses to identify ‘fugitives’ passing through a crowded train station.
This technology of the future may be the next step in making sure no criminals escape justice.
Officers deployed at Zhengzhou East high-speed rail station in the Henan province are first in the country to don the cutting-edge, tinted glasses in the name of catching criminals.
Glasses contain in-built facial recognition software that allows police to scan passengers travelling through the station. Specifically designed for police use, the smart spectacles are connected to a tablet-like device that allows officers to take mugshots and compare them to a police database.
The app brings up the suspect's vital information, including name, ethnicity, gender and last-known address. It also informs police if the individual is on the run from the law, the address of where they are staying and information related to their internet usage.
Unlike of other similar devices, "police" glasses are connected not to a cloud with a database of persons, but to a device that is in hands of employees.
According to LLVision, as a result of tests the device managed to identify the person's face with the help of a database of 10 thousand persons for 100 milliseconds.
389 million train trips are expected to be made over the spring festival rush period, from February 1 to March 12, 2018 in China. Zhengzhou East is one of the largest railway interchange stations in China.
Meanwhile, several Chinese railway stations including Zhengzhou are offering "face swiping" check-in services, similar to automated passport checks at airports, during the rush period.
China’s largest social media network, WeChat, is set to launch ID cards this year in conjunction with Chinese Ministry of Public Security, that will be recognized as official identification by the state.
Plans are also underway to build a giant facial recognition database to identify any citizen within seconds. The goal is for the system to be capable of matching someone’s face to their ID photo with about 90 percent accuracy.
This is super invention. If in China it works, where according to Europeans all Chinese are on the same face, then in Europe and America it will work even more effectively.
