Minority and Women-Owned Businesses are the Future
“A witty woman is a treasure; a witty beauty is a power.”
We made it to the summit of this week, a short trip, wouldn’t you say? Sunday was just here in her nice slacks and blouse, and now we find ourselves on top of the weekly mountain, setting up camp so the next two days we can spend heading down to our weekend villages.
My trek has been fantastic, a lovely walk up with some beautiful souls. My days are a collection of movement and chats with other interesting humans being.
I met with Bay at 9:00. Me in Indy, she in CO. We worked on an email marketing program. I wrapped that up and headed north; I visited my friends Melissa and Chrissa, two friends I’ve known for many years. I ran a call with my banker on some strategy to pull some equity out and lock in some long term money using the low-interest rates we are gifted today. Do yourself a favor and lock into the low rates; inflation is coming. Never forget, cash is king.
I then headed to meet my friend Dan. We planned to go to Thai Smile, but they no longer allowed for indoor dining, so we choose the open and majestic Italian and American fusion joint known as Dagocacker’s Fine Dining. Actually, it was a chain, but we went to Dagocracker’s Fine Dining for this story.
We laughed for an hour and a half, talked about finance and how to use cash to benefit us during this time of our life. Strategies for success; updated each other on family, shared some inappropriate jokes, and both headed off to continue building our empires.
I left there and headed to see my long time friend Jeff. Jeff owns a lotion company; he sells his products worldwide; both he and Dan have the midwestern work ethic I cherish in people. Jeff shared some supply chain issues; he has been creative when filling his orders; he has developed some new products in light of COVID. If you don’t mind, visit my friend’s online store and buy something, the products will blow your mind.

One little note about Jeff, knowing we used to fly weekly, would give me 100 or so sample bags with 3 of his top sellers and a business card. On each trip, I would provide a bag for the flight staff, and each trip would be rewarded with free cocktails for my gift. The folks that take care of fliers love the hand cream, and I suspect you might as well.
On my way back to Indy, we ran a call with our accountant. Tax strategy, what moves can we make to improve our balance sheet. We chatted new PPP and how we won’t qualify due to the banner year we experienced in 2020. Let those that need the money use it, consume it; we will get back to work making money the old fashion way; we will earn it.
I left there and headed back to Indianapolis, I had set up drinks with my friend Don, but I don’t’ drink on Tuesday’s so I opted for a root beer. Don had a Stella, and then we headed back to his office to meet his team. Don formed a nonprofit that hosts pitch competitions for high schools all over the nation. They have connected with many universities across Indiana; Don is a rock star impacting our youth’s lives. To learn more about Don’s work – visit here:

I got home about 5:30, took PVHT on a walk; we went to the park, and she ran a bit. She’s a happy dog when we are home; she jailbroke her crate again; we had to get the metal crate out since she is no longer contained by her zipper based jail. Soon my Queen arrived, we had sparkling water, chatted about our days, she began cooking, and we wound down the night laughing and watching the show The Preacher on AMC. A great little show about God, Vampires, and a Tulip.
We hit the bed about 8:15; I got 9 hours of sleep, woke refreshed, and I’m ready to take on another day. The coffee is rich this morning; the dog is content, my Queen is working to my side, showing me our new vanities for our mountain home, I swear she could run her own interior design business. She has style, grace and is the most beautiful woman on the planet. I just might ask for this young lady’s hand, but shhh, that’s a secret.
One of my conversations was about the changes in our world, and one of my friends was concerned about the country’s direction. I said I was not concerned; I have chosen to focus on my world, letting those in power make their moves, and then adjusted my movements using the new ruleset. I don’t care who is in control; just give me the rules, and I’ll do my best to follow them and look for ways to shuck and jive and bring wealth to my teammates.
Now is a time to focus on what you can control; I would not pay much attention to the news; whatever story is happening, it will be twisted and cut to make it look like the world is ending. I did see where the Biden Administration was going to favor minority-owned businesses and women-owned businesses. When my Queen and I merged, she asked, and I encouraged her to be the majority owner to take advantage of the women-owned business rules. We are well-positioned for this new woke political favoritism. Let us know the rules, Uncle Joe, and we will work to maximize your folly.
Ah, a joyous time in a joyful world. A world is moist with opportunity, rampant injustice, and revolution for those less fortunate, including my Queen, a woman who needs help to fight off those evil men in power. Hey men, you might want to put your wife in the leadership position; you no longer have status, you dirty dog you, how dare you work hard and build something unique. It’s not fair, you know, you and your white privilege, all those benefits you had. But white men, well men, those benefits are now gone replaced with a new set up rules to favor those that have been unfairly persecuted and not given a fair chance. Affirmative action, baby, bring it on! As a minority owner of a minority business, I encourage our government to favor companies like ours and reward us for recognizing the future; women-owned companies are much more righteous than men-owned businesses. Um, boys in the control room, can you wrap up this soup with an extended laugh track?
