Our office is proud to announce the 2024 Sacramento District Small Business Week Award Winners, which were selected from nominees across our 21-county district office. Minority Small Business the Year – Janico Building Services, LLC. (North Highlands, CA).

Yolanda Harris never envisioned herself running a large company. They were seeking new income opportunities after moving to Sacramento. As a result, in August 1985, Yolanda and her husband, Lorenzo, co-founded Janico Building Services.Some of the obstacles such as sales growth was their challenge during the early days as well as competition of the subcontracted work from larger janitorial firms. Ms. Harris decided to become federal contractor through SBA 8(a) program. Additionally, Janico Building Services received an SBA 7A PPP. Also, SBA resource partner networked assisted Ms. Harris with the development of business plan and revenue growth. Now, the company has built their reputation for delivering quality, cost-effective services that allow their clients to focus on their businesses.
