Mental health does no discriminate: it does not care what car you drive, what country you are from, or the level of education you have. However, treatment for mental health does at times discriminate. Minority or marginalized communities are 20-50% less likely to initiate treatment and 40-80% more likely to leave treatment. These statistics from the National Institute of Health (USA) reveal that a large portion of those who live with, or suffer from a mental illness do so without the resources many others have access to. This month we recognize and support their fight.
